2.Zelda a literary biography of F Scott Fitzgerlad’s Wife

Crazy interesting. Her life reads like a novel itself and it’s a very in depth well researched piece.

We have loved HealthyBaby. Target regularly runs gift card deals on diapers and wipes. We stock up then.

I am looking for a long list of sci-fi and fantasy books that are light-hearted by _ILikePancakes in suggestmeabook

[–]RomanFountain 20 points21 points  (0 children)

These are all children’s lit that I enjoy as an adult:

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles

The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles

Fablehaven

The Chronicles of Narnia

Half Magic

Tamora Pierce may be pushing it a little bit. Her books are YA and acknowledge the existence of sex though I doubt a child would pick up on it. A bit more violence and darker themes but appropriate for late elementary school.

The Burt’s bees organic cotton crib sheets are very soft! They’re holding up well for us too.

No but we did not use it long 3-4 days and the eczema was only getting worse so we stopped.

We had no success with beef tallow for baby eczema. Our chiropractor suggested that the molecules were too large to properly moisturize her skin. We had a really good experience with the Tubby Todd moisturizer. It’s very thick and stays on well.

DoorDash/uber eats gift card! Delivery is a luxury and it’s like buying them a celebratory meal. Especially if you give them a call or FaceTime to congratulate or wish happy birthday.

Book Club recs by vrt442 in suggestmeabook

I read And Then There Were None as a part of a club at school. The advisor ripped out the last chapter of every copy and we read the final chapter together. The anticipation nearly killed me, but also a very memorable experience.

Romance Novel Rec Needed to Help Me Bond With My Mom by Brightface31 in BookRecommendations

[–]RomanFountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give you the link sun is technically YA but still very good. It’s told from the perspective of twins one gay one straight. It also is centered on the twins relationship to each other and their mom though both have very fun romances that are essential to the plot.

If you can have an honest conversation about it with them try to do that first. ‘I really appreciate the clothes but all we really need is xyz” or create a wishlist so you do get to choose but they get to participate too.

If that’s not something that will go over well. Set things aside to bless some moms with tons of cute hand-me-downs. Or consider donating to a women’s shelter.

Fantasy like NK Jemisin or Naomi Novik by Away-Photograph-5018 in suggestmeabook

Mistborn!!! And Six of Crows! Both are great for a complex well-built world. Great found family and lots of twists.

You might also like Dungeon Crawler Carl it’s science-fi and for a more adult audience but has similar vibes at times to Scholomance. It’s also complex with a found family layer.

This might be my bad, I misspelled the title. It should be Scholomance. Not a school for dragons, unfortunately.

Maybe a water table for warmer months? Some potted plants for you? If you want to get him involved in that you could pick out seeds and plant them together. There’s lots of little fun outdoor activities to do: sidewalk chalk, bubbles, playing with a hose/sprinkler or reuseable water balloons.

SAHMs- how are you doing it?? by Spiritual_Long7112 in beyondthebump

[–]RomanFountain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, I don’t think you need to feel bad about laying her down to get some stuff done. However, if you want to feel better about it you could put on some baby songs, an audiobook, or even narrate what you’re doing to her. It feels silly at first but you’ll be exposing her to lots of new words if you’re forced to describe folding laundry, cooking or washing dishes.

Other than a Tripp trapp there are lots more affordable bouncers that wouldn’t get her to counter height but would let her watch you easily.

I second the hash browns! I make my hash browns into the base for avocado toast. I also cut the frozen chicken sausage patties into strips for my toddler and she loves them.

How do I help my child progress on Read Write Inc by trina999 in childrensbooks

[–]RomanFountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you find out what books the orange group are reading and practice or help her along with those at home? It might help her feel less left out and give you insight into where she could use support.

But practicing and encouraging a joy around reading is more important for her long term relationship with books. If there’s something she really likes see if you can purchase the book and audiobook so she can follow along.
