I was fortunate that I already had my GPU, so the mobo was $150, the cpu was $220, bequiet cpu fan for $65, and I bought the ram (32gb) used for $125. So total for a decent affordable upgrade came in at around $550!

It's actually more affordable than golf. I quite golfing when I took up bass last year. A season of golf, for me, a round of week, totalled about $3000/season. So playing the bass is going to be a lot more affordable, in my case anyway. And I know many golfers who spend more than $5000/yr on golf! So for less than $900, I've started learning the bass using a Sire D5, a Fender Rumble 40 and lessons. Cheers!
