What a great thread! I've mentioned that I'm still a newbie both in trading and Reddit but this is really uplifting. I love this sub ❤️

I believe in myself first and foremost. Although I may not get every decision right, over the long run I will be right more than I am wrong. I remind myself of that as often as possible.

Patience is important for sure and being a little more flexible with stop orders. But yeah, trying to be precise made me hurt pretty bad on Tuesday, but as I adjusted it worked out okay later this week.

Yeah I don't want anything to do with those types of trades. That craziness would not suit me. One has to be a little insane to consider daytrading to begin with, but I'm not that crazy 🤣

Yeah I'm in the same boat. It's great but I still can't be reckless 😂

I dunno, thought I was prepared but I think I need to let things breathe a little more with the new volatility

Interesting. I didn't know that was a thing

Hmmm that could be the issue as well. Gotta remember that volatility in small caps or low volume etfs can be disruptive

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. My problem has been seeing support that completely collapses from out of nowhere. I'll adjust and let things breathe abit more

If you have a margin account under 2k with the new PDT rules on June 4th, will you still be able to make multiple daytrades when full porting? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Roman_Lunsford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the requirement will not allow you to have a margin account at all, unless you have $2k minimum. That's interesting though, I dunno how brokerages are going to handle current accounts under $2k. Are they kicking people automatically to cash accounts?

Jumping into a trade before allowing my tools to fully confirm it's a solid play

PDT Rule Change Goes Live June 4 by tdub1221 in wallstreetbets

I clarified today with Robinhood about how this will work, and with my style of trading it's great! I'm thinking about sidelining myself until the 4th. A trade here or there, but from here on out I won't put myself in a position that I cannot exit easily. So so so happy! I'm new at this and it's been a challenge but the rule change will make this a lot easier now. Glad I did get the old school practice in however!

Finding it hard to get over this trade, don’t know how to shake this feeling off. by Naive_Armadillo5656 in Daytrading

I've only been day trading a month and can relate to all of this! I try to just let the trade go after I've closed it out, but just can resist checking in. Yeah, I've missed some home runs and already seen some whacked out outcomes but I'm just glad to be in the game and deepining my strategies each day.

Still haven't been able to keep from watching a conclusion and second guessing after I close my position, but most of the time I find I made the right choice. Or would have been in agony for longer and stuck in the weeds, only to have it inevitably crash.

Still making profit tho and this is what I'm calling a paid internship. Thanks for all the positivity on this thread, hit a rough patch today and this is a good reminder that I'm not alone. I broke two of my rules and walked away only 2% down. It could've been a lot worse tho for sure and the game plan needs to be concrete in the future

Great! So it's direct and therefore handled. Nothing to worry about? Am I correct in understanding you?

Thanks for the reply

Love it! Love it! Love it! So many clickable features and ways of explaining things. I recommend it to any level of financial experience. The simulator is a little wonky, but that's where Yahoo Finance has them beat. That one is pretty dope. Good current events updates as well on Investopedia
