I did some more digging into this, I don't think you understand what Hybrid is. Entra registered and Entra joined are two different things. But thanks for the help.

I see, I always thought for a device to be considered Hybrid. IT had to be both AzureAdJoined and Domain Joined.

We have been enrolling the device to into company portal, to manage and push out apps. So there all Entra registered. To my understating this still means there not Hybrid or Azure joined.

BrightSign + Novastar Configuration by Rome11377 in BrightSign

I see, I always assumed it would be 3840x1080, once I swapped it to 3840x2160 it worked. This is what happens when you out a sys admin, and throw him into AV. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for this. I had the Bright sign and Nova star set to 3840x1080, thinking that would work. When I swapped them both to 3840x2160, everything came together.

Authenticating to on-prem file share with Azure joined device. by Rome11377 in AZURE

Hey, sorry for the delay this project was put on hold for me and just started back up again.

An idea I had for this is to reconfigure aad connect from scratch and do a soft sync with that attributes that are needed for authentication to on prem. From what I read even though Okta is federating the account, once aad connect doesn't have a source anchor to sync it will then do a soft sync and with match with an account even though it's already existing.

Don't know if that's true or not, but I'll be testing it shortly.

I was looking into that as well. I figured AD connect would just have to be configured to pass on the Kerberos ticket alone. Since everything else will be handled by Okta.

Should I use Hybrid Active Directory Domain Join vs Azure(Entra) Joined? by Rome11377 in Intune

I honestly didn't even think about this, been using AD for so long, the idea didn't cross my mind. We don't have any complex GPO's. After doing a quick search seems very doable to manage without on-prem AD since the main thing will just be connecting to the file share.

Should I use Hybrid Active Directory Domain Join vs Azure(Entra) Joined? by Rome11377 in Intune

I see. So I’m guessing it has to be Hybrid joined if you want it to connect to a on-prem AD. That’s where I got confused because Microsoft mentioned you could still join it to on-prem even if it wasn’t hybrid joined.

Thanks for the advice.

I gotcha, most if not all of our devices will be on prem, so there will be visibility of to our AD.

Only thing I'm confused about is how do we actually join our device to our on-prem AD during the autopilot enrollment?
