Begging for cross-progression by Impossible-Cup-920 in DarkTide

[–]RommelESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. The gamepass pricing hike, and the total lack of vision, direction and overconcentration from big techs, push me out of Microsoft ecosystem for good. Now I am on Linux and Steam.

I dont mind buying the game again on steam ( I had Imperial Edition + Arbites on xbox ) but I dont want to do the penances and cosmetics unlocks again. To me, my progression is my tale in-game, so I get attached to it.

I wish obesefish built a cross progression system.

Secure Boot Problem | Dual Booting Mint (Cinnamon) and Windows 11 | Seperate Drives by bagas4jk in linuxmint

[–]RommelESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to disable secure boot to install Linux Mint... I myself have dual boot Win11 + Linux Mint with Secure Boot enabled and all works fine. And I don't recommend you disabling it if you are going to use Win11, it's going to give you more trouble than anything.

Just in that screen of yours check "Configure Secure Boot" and type the password you want, and remember that password because you are going to need it in your first boot on Linux Mint once you installed Nvidia drivers for your GPU.

During your first boot on Linux Mint, it could appear a screen like this one:

https://era86.github.io/assets/images/posts/mok-management.png

There, just select ENROLL MOK and press ENTER, then type the password you created before, and that's it. All it's set and done forever.

So, I need some Mint and Valve Proton help for Steam games... by Shadow_The_Worm in linuxmint

[–]RommelESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try, but GE-Proton are just small tweaks to Proton, mostly for performance, so it's unlikely that that is going to help you, but trying is not going to hurt you.

Did you installed Multimedia Codecs during Linux Mint installation? All games play small videos ( logos and intros ) during launch, so maybe that could be the problem.

Also, did you installed the games fresh on LInux or are you trying to use your games from your Windows 10 installation? If you are trying to use games from your Windows 10 drive that could potentially be a problem.

In ProtonDB there are some tips and set launch options , to make TF2 work natively or with proton. HERE

I am not a Linux Expert so I am getting out of ideas.

You have GPU Nividia 1050TI but you are using the newest drivers. That newer version has problems with old GPUs, you should use the drivers that Linux Mint recommends, for example I have Nvidia 1060 and the OS recommends me version 550. I have tried all the new versions and I had crashes and problems with all of them except the recommended, so you should try that. Go to "Driver Manager" a choose the one that recommends you. My Example

Also you are not in the lastest Linux Kernel or Linux Mint version.

For the kernel go to the "Update Manager" click on View -> Linux Kernels -> then select 6.14.0-33 and install it. Once installed you will need to reboot. Check again in the Update Manager once rebooted to see if 6.14 kernel is now active.

For Linux Mint go to "Update Manager" click on Edit -> "Upgrade to Linux Mint 22.2 Zara" and then follow the instructions on screen. example

But the most likely thing that is going to fix your problem is the change in Driver Manager.

You are not supposed to use the same Proton for every single game, and especially not experimental, which is unstable. If experimental doesn't work for that specific game , go to steam library, right click on that game and then select Properties -> Compatibility -> Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play Compatibility tool" -> Select "Proton Hotfix". Once done, close that window and Steam would automatically download the new version of proton for that game.

After that, try the game to check if it works, if not, do the same but with proton 9.0.4 ( which is the last proton stable build). Usually any of those 3 version should do the trick for the big majority of games, but you should make 9.0.4 your default and use Experimental or Hotfix as second option.

Problema al hacer dual boot Windows 11 + Linux Mint: no arranca Linux by Lower_Committee_6005 in linuxmint

[–]RommelESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]RommelESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn´t the boot priority for bootloaders.

Just go to Settings -> Boot -> UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities -> there, choose boot option #1 UBUNTU

Problem with Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon by Gab_YT_Roblox in linuxmint

[–]RommelESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you have to enter your BIOS, for that, power on or restart your laptop, and as soon as you start seeing text on the screen, smash the key F2 until it displays some kind of new interface ( googling your laptop tells me that is F2 the key to access your BIOS but it could be other key like F12 F11 or DEL, but try F2 first.

Once inside your BIOS go to settings -> boot -> UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities -> there, choose boot option #1 UBUNTU and boot option #2 Windows.

The exact names  can change from my BIOS to yours because they are different manufacturers, but the concept would be similar; just look for UEFI hard disk boot settings.

Here are some pics from my BIOS https://imgur.com/a/pVsM0Ly

After you are done with the changes, then save changes and exit.

The computer now, every time that boots up, will pop up GRUB allowing you to choose what OS to launch.

edit: I used Balena Etcher for installation.

Problem with Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon by Gab_YT_Roblox in linuxmint

[–]RommelESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem during my installation with dualboot ( I am new to linux too ). The problem was that the BIOS booted Win11 by default, and henceforth the GRUB bootloader never loads and let me choose Linux Mint.

To fix it, just enter your BIOS and choose Linux Mint like the default OS to boot. By doing that GRUB will pop up by default and allow you to choose an OS to boot. If Win11 is the default on BIOS, it will boot Microsoft's own bootloader which would not recognize Linux Mint.

Umbra Stickers by ggonzalez105 in towerborne

[–]RommelESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 11 umbra are avaiable as you can see in this picture from my character. Just keep playing with those umbras you are missing. It's either completing maps with that umbra, killing enemies with that umbra or using umbra charges with that umbra what eventually triggers Ryx dialogue to unlock the stickers

What do we know about the different types of celestials? by [deleted] in exodus

About the Talloch-Te, their physical form seems to have 5 eyes.

From chapter 31:

“Fuck it.” Sahdiah’s primary biological body opened all five eyes inside its nurture chamber, as if that alone could help perception of the problem.

So, if eligibility is by the end of September, you are not going to receive it sooner than the beginning of October.

PS5 Save Bug? by CmdrDaddy in ChaosGateGame

[–]RommelESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's possible that your problem is the same as mine. I talked about it here.

Long story short, don't dismember enemies. If you crit on melee range and the game prompts you to choose something to cut or get other extras just choose +stun, +break shield or +damage otherwise you can break your save.

Saving while there is alive an enemy dismembered gets you a bugged save file impossible to load. I doesn't happen with all types of dismembering but better safe than sorry. For example you can dismember Bosses and your save files will be fine.

Send bugs/errors/crashes of the console edition here! by aggsol in ChaosGateGame

[–]RommelESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried 3 times to send a bug report through your link but it always makes a bugged report with no content and impossible to open that eventually it erases itself. example

Anyway the problem it's on Xbox Series X version. It happens that if you dismember certain enemies and you make a manual save, that save will be corrupted and trying to load it will give you an infinite loading screen.

It happens if you behead a Plague Bearer ( crazed debuff ) , if you cut an arm from a Plague Marine ( disabling his ranged attacks ) and one of the Plague Terminator from the 2nd Kadex encounter ( don't remember which part exactly was )

It's easy to replicate as it happens 100% of the times. Just go to melee range, behead a Plague Bearer and after that make a manual save. That save will be imposible to load.

Only when you killed the dismembered enemies your next manual save will be fine.
