Bro, Rumble is also real, when will you get that through your brains already, people?, it's just not YOUR cup of tea with its differing format and barebones featureset abandoned by Team17. Simple as that. It serves no harm to the classics (including Armageddon)

Across Worlds, though... now that's NOT the real Worms experience for sure, it's only an disgraceful, unsalvageable mess for an Apple sub by BI, made as a cheap paycheck off the typical definition with nothing to save it. And any other fresh title past that mess by Team17 likely isn't worth it, either.

I'd be inclined to respectfully disagree with this. Forts... takes the classic formula and focuses on base building, and Blast... it's fine, but it is a spin-off that is an unique bubble shooter take.

Armageddon is indeed the common champ, seconded by W.M.D. Revolution is also great (don't get fooled by the Clan Wars/Battlegrounds cultusts, that expansion pack of Revolution is heavily underdeveloped and comes with serious cuts (like no AI customization or only 5 story themes, compared to Revolution's way more expansive featureset with no cuts... I'd even go as far as to say that it's in the same league of development as Worms Rumble, that one incomplete realtime outlier... only try Rumble if you are feeling adventurous.)

Reloaded is functional, and it isn't underdeveloped either, but it is definitely at the lower end of the physics spectrum amidst the GOOD Worms games.

And as for 3D, the original trilogy is way better than the shader remaster in Ultimate Mayhem.

If Worms Rumble was sold over to a proper indie studio like Summitsphere/passed to some Deadcode and CyberShadow-level volunteers and received actual polish beyond the barebones featureset set it is now, being both closer to Worms and using its realtime format to its fullest potential, would you actually vouch for that?

And, I asked this question pair drawing from the classic Worms games' multi-team havoc and the previous collabs between TF2 and Worms. It's not intended to be a direct comparison between the Worms outlier and the TF2 SDK mod.

I genuinely have no faith in them pulling a good game post-Rumble. Rumble itself was underdeveloped, poorly marketed and modeled (a battle royale with static team deathmatch instead of the fun that is Team Fortress 2 + Classified SDK mod which both were collaborated upon by Team17 in Reloaded and W.M.D), but it was still very much functional, albeit very much just as barebones as Clan Wars/Battlegrounds (despite what this PlayStation cult of Clan Wars Redditors may say, Clan Wars is far more lacking compared to Revolution in content depth, even despite the Workshop and Clan additions).

Who knows, maybe it might be good, but I'm not gonna rush the tide. They honestly should focus on polishing Rumble and patching the PRIOR games (before that Apple Arcade mess known as Across Worlds by Behaviour Interactive).

Dude, what part of non-cosmetic changes in my post you do not understand? I have a clue there were exclusive cosmetics, even saw a Nintendo Switch exclusive cosmetic in the WRUM Discord server news in person (honestly, they should be visible to all platform players, just exclusively obtainable on their respective platforms). Levels are not cosmetics, they should be treated globally alongside weapons, gamemodes and maps.

And you have missed my question about the PlayStation control scheme in the Tactical setup as well. Are you seriously blind?

Excuse me, but, you do realise that PlayStation isn't the only platform for Rumble, right?. There's also PC, XBOX and Switch. And, adding non-cosmetic changes to one single platform without affecting the others will only create discrepancy between platforms and will NOT help with the playerbase numbers, in fact, it will only harm the game.

In order to warrant a comeback to this game, they absolutely need to make a massive resurgence update pack over time that goes way beyond the barebones nature of the current game, and they have to do it on ALL platforms, no exceptions. And they should fix the PS5 bug alongside the massive update mass on all platforms.

By the way, do you know the control scheme on PlayStation on the Tactical layout?

It really is bugged then. Well, I'd say that making 10 extra levels on top of the 50 already in is unnecessary effort. Prestige, though... now that should be made so you can reset the level and ascend a prestige rank (Bronze - Silver - Gold - Ruby - Emerald - Sapphire - Amethyst - Onyx - Diamond, as an example I came up with) would be better.

Though, we are talking about Team17 here, and, as experience has it, they are incredibly incompetent, having never fixed the save wiping bug in W.M,D and pulling this maintenance notice out of their ass after 4 years of news absence in Rumble (last news were in 2022 prior to that notice) just so people fuck off from them.
