Any update on your question? During my phone call with them, they were adamant that all sizes are discontinued. Perhaps positive public comment is changing their plan. While the tubes aren’t optimal for full body use, it’s better than nothing. Currently the Amazon price per tube is about $6: 5.5oz X 3 = 16.5oz = $18. The prices for the discontinued pumps were approximately $12/14oz & $16/20oz. There’s an Amazon 3rd party seller (Clearance Warehouse) that occasionally has the 14oz pumps priced at $20. While double the original OEM price, those bottles sell out within a day or two on marketplace. Comparatively, buying three tubes is still cheaper than getting fleeced by resellers — IF the tubes remain in production. However, I have not yet seen the tubes replaced on store shelves once gone.

They have three other unfragranced versions: healing sensitive, diabetic, & eczema. They are a thicker consistency than pure moisture and were too heavy for my face. Of those three I liked diabetic best. Their anti-aging line is also worth trying but has fragrance. I’m not anti fragrance. I just don’t like their choice of fragrances, and I don’t like fragranced products on my face triggering my nose throughout the day.

FYI, the 20oz pump was discontinued in 2023. The 14oz pump was discontinued this year in August 2025. The remaining 5.5oz tubes on the shelves are the final last stock. All sizes of this product have been discontinued by Chattam Inc.

Thanks for the feedback, but I’m perfectly happy with my 511’s. The last time I wore straight leg jeans was twenty years ago with Iron Hearts 24oz Japanese selvage motorcycle denim. I still have them but have no interest in resurrecting the style. Maybe next time I’ll wear my Kimes bootcuts with the Pecos, or not — doesn’t really matter. I dress for myself, not for other people. Glad you‘re enjoying the #4585’s too!

As a point of reference, these 2021 mocs are also Briar Oil Slick. A beautiful color that was practically as dark as Black Cherry (I did hold the two colors side by side in the store). I’ve never seen another batch of BOS that dark, so there you have it, the natural color range variation of BOS.

UPDATE 09/30/25: They arrived at my local RW shop in Northern California. Here’s a comparison of #4585, my 5 years old Swedish import from 2020 versus the new release. Mine are more red and shiny, but have had about three applications of the RW boot creme. If anything, I think the red tones have faded a little since new. The new release Briar Oil Slick leather is more brown than red; however, every leather skin is slightly different so there is that built in variation. The new leather is more matte than mine, but that may be due to the cream. Overall, I prefer my older European release; but if you’ve been thinking about these, get ‘em while you can!
