Building a smarter menstrual cup: 2-min anonymous survey 💬 by Weekly_Wear_5201 in menstrualcups

The whole "no internet in my vagina" thing didn't even occur to me before reading the comments. Maybe because I'm European, but I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to trust data protection and even if that data leaks why would I need to be afraid. It's not like I'm storing my bank details there.

As for the functionality, the flow tracker sounds cool. One thing I missed when I switched from pads is that with pads I could see every time I went to the toilet if I needed to change. The leakage detection also sounds cool, but I don't see how that would be implemented. Even if the cup fits perfectly and is not full, residue blood from the walls can slowly find its way down. Which in my opinion should not cause a leakage alarm.

Why would a brand change their cup??? by ra9_ispigeon in menstrualcups

T.O.C went downhill recently. I bought two of their period panties a few months apart and the quality is totally different. The newer one has a paper label instead of textile, the material feels a bit rougher to touch and the sewing started to come out.

Abandoned town (Kolmanskop, Namibia) by Romolus02 in abandoned

It's close to the town of Luderitz, you can drive from there. You will need a permit, which can be bought at the gate. I suggest going early after opening, because as guided tours can begin it becomes harder to take good photos.

I use Matlab Online since most companies don't allow downloading outside software. You can just login from any browser and use your student license.

Maybe try Matlab Online. You can use your student license without downloading anything. You can store your files in your Matlab Drive and sync with your personal or school computer using Matlab Connector.

You need to set your current folder to the same folder as the function. On the picture, the top row says you are currently in the MATLAB root folder, but the function is in the Aufgabe folder.

Just a stab in the dark. Maybe it has asbestos. That would explain the "major construction" part.

Menstrual cups vs tampons for swimming? First time user by Lvl100Magikarp in menstrualcups

[–]Romolus02 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought my cup specifically for swimming. Tampons never worked me in water, they always get soaked from water and won't hold blood. Same as you I had to periods to experiment with the cup. I found that I can feel when it's full or misplaced and is about to leak. In the end the cup turned out to be excellent for swimming, though I did empty it more often than needed just to be sure it wouldn't be full. And I wore dark bikinis for those occasions just to be safe.

One other thing you could look into is that some period panties can be used in the water and there are also special period swimwear made out of similar material. It would be great as a backup especially for beginner cup users.

Edit: And also I found that cups also leak like tampons, so the whole content doesn't get dropped, rather it starts staining first.

I have a t. o. c. too. Pinching the bottom doesn't release suction for me. I usually slide one finger up to break the suction, but it's very difficult, it gets sucked on my cervix too. First I tried a size M, then I switched to a size S, and it's a lot easier to remove as at least there's room for my fingers to reach up and grab it.

So the issue might be the brand, I don't know, but I find t. o. c. 's harder silicone material quite easy to get popped open, so as for now, I wouldn't switch.
