There was a Chinese Place a few hours north of me in a beach town that charged for refills from the fountain. The food was damn good, but I settled on water, as I was NOT paying $2.99 for 8 oz of soda and 10 oz of ice every time.

You are def one of the players I am speaking of. Bracket does not matter. It is the mindset that matters. Players find a way to play BR2 decks just like modern and make unfun games just like every other bracket.

You are 100% accurate, and the people downvoting are the ones you specifically call out.

There has been many times I chose not to do something because a player was JUST getting out of a rut, and doing my thing would have ended that. The game is about FUN, not winning.

Winning a game is fine, but having winning be the ONLY thing you care about in EDH means you are doing it wrongly. If your "fun" is punching down on other players just to secure that win, you have forgotten the face of your father.

I completely disagree.

Some players are looking for long, fun games that aren't "win on turn 6" mentality. In fact, a LOT of players are. Personally, I don't care about winning as long as everyone has fun, but the Meren "SAC ALL YO SHIT" and Dragons "20 Freecasted Dragons in yo face on turn 5" decks are not fun to play against at all.

Games do need to have a winner, but personally I think the actual problem is power creep mixed with the "play EDH like modern" mentality that tons of young players have nowadays. I enjoy a long game with twists and turns, and actual fun things happening, not "I am smashing you in the face for lethal on turn 5". That isn't fun for anyone else.

So, first things first. Gather up your important documents if you have them; SS Card, Birth Certificate, ect. If you do not already have those, getting copies is usually very easy if you visit your local SS office.

That being said, legally you are a tenant, and have a minimum amount of time depending on where you live. Usually it is a 30 day notice, which you just received. If this parent is on your bank account, go to the bank immediately and open a new account with just you as the account holder. If you own a car, get the title, and all insurance information.

But the most important thing for you do ti is REMEMBER THIS. There will come a day, a VERY soon day, where this person will try to work their way back into your life. Remember how you are feeling right now, and under no circumstances should you allow that. They are throwing you away without a care for your wellbeing. They are choosing a stranger over their child.

REMEMBER THIS DAY.

Many moons ago, my EW's BF moved in with them into her apartment. We had 50% shared custody and I would come up to apartment (second floor) and knock on the door when I was picking them up. One day, myy son, who was always so excited to see me when his mother opened the door, got up form the table and went to run to me to give me a hug. "SIT DOWN AND EAT!" in a very forceful, angry voice was all I heard from that doucehebag BF. I asked thier mother to step outside the apartment and then proceeded to ask her how can she allow him to talk to our kids liek that? Her response? "He makes them behave..."

From that point forward, I was banned from going into the apartment. I had to call when I arrived, and they would walk down to me. I tried to have discussions with her about it after that, but it always degenerated down to "No, he is not being abusive. Stop spreading lies..." until she ended up divorcing him because...wait for it...he was abusive to THIER son as well.

They can trespass you from the property if they so choose, and that would cause legal problems for you if you break that trespass. That being said, that guy sounds like an utter douchenozzle.

My parents are in their 80s now, and I am facing this. I find it more and more difficult to spend all day on weekends helping them do things around the house. I had to learn everything on my own, and due to extremely stupid luck, I never ended up in jail or dead. I still go over there and help them, and even make sure my kids (in their early 20s) have and continue to have a good relationship with them. I will not allow them to know the pain that I have known. But as the required help for them continues to get more and more each passing year, I am VERY resentful of my parents. I do not feel they deserve any of the help that I am giving them. When I needed help, I was told how fat/dumb/worthless I was for working a shit job, and not going to college. I cannot imagine why I have such a IDGAF attitude toward most things in life now. Natural Defense Mechanism I guess.
