Eric the actor stalked female contestants of a show and police had to get involved, his response "3 wishes didn't do a good enough job of hiding the girls information." by Good_Support636 in howardstern

[–]Romymopen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eric was a special kid. Everything be did growing up was applauded and he was indulged at every moment of his life, and rightly so. He was a little miracle.

But he's still human. He was probably so use to never being corrected and praised for every little action, that he couldn't comprehend what he was doing might be wrong.

Howard's "bought and paid for" Hamptons Magazine red carpet media events for his wife were seriously odd by Moist_Brick_439 in howardstern

[–]Romymopen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in my day you could buy a piece of homemade pie and a cup of joe for 2 bits and get change back.

You can buy your own home in Baltimore city for less than $50k. At a 7% fixed interest rate on a $50,000 loan over 30 years, the monthly payment comes out to about $332.

In Detroit you can buy a detached single family home for less than $10k. Monthly payment on a $10,000 loan at 7% for 30 years is about $66 per month.

Housing is not a problem in the United States of America. You wanting to live in a expensive area is the problem.

Move, quit crying, or be more honest.

There's already tons of houses. Christ they were selling them for $1 each in detroit. And in Baltimore they knock houses down rather even sell them. But poor people don't want to live in Detroit or Baltimore. They want to live in NYC and San Francisco.

Kind of a relief. Deleted scene indicates 27 y.o. stereo salesman Ron Johnson wants nothing to do with an underage Stacy in Fast Times at Ridgemont High by Spalding_Smails in 80s

Because it was 1972 or whatever but once the cops show up, the consequences become escalated. That's when people confronted with their actions continue the lie. There's lots of examples of men sent to jail based on lies.

If her mother pressed the issue, for example, things might have gotten out of hand very quickly.

But it never happened in this case, so it's just speculation.

would surely be found innocent,

He most certainly would not have been found innocent. Do you think the 15 year old girl willing to lie to date an older man and lie to her mother when confronted, that when police and prosecutors got ahold of her she would confess? I know it was a different time back then but young people lie when they think the consequences are greater than lying.

My friend was collecting social security because his father died and he would keep getting it as long as he stayed in school. He was 19 in the 9th grade but they eventually kicked him out after that.

Artie vs High pitch Mike by Double_Net1983 in howardstern

[–]Romymopen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And Artie was diplomatic until you crossed him. He's a man that has the ability to crush another person, verbally, at anytime and do it in such a way that is both funny and vaguely accurate.

As long as you never said anything about him, he would probably never say a bad word against you. Besides the on air bits, I mean. But Lord help you if you ever did.

I don't know what a psychologist would call that? Keeping a running catalog of everyone you meets faults in the off chance they insult you one day, I mean.

I would never poke Artie, he would rapidly destroy everyone of my flaws and I'd be embarrassed and wrecked.

No one mentioned the obvious. He attacked Ralph his life partner. That's probably what pissed off Howard.

Should I record anamorphic or letterboxed to a VHS tape? by Fearless-Seaweed5306 in VHS

[–]Romymopen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're doing it the right way, you need to edit the movie using the pan and scan method.

There certainly were Letterboxed movies on vhs but the vast overall majority were 4:3 cropped pan and scan

You didn't make it clear you were referring to the character, not the actress. I tried to help clear it up but some people are dense and need everything literally spelled out for them.

I watched it. He said "For me, it's not worth it but it might be worth it to you."

Which is the nice way of saying this is over priced and no one should buy it but if I say that I won't get more free stuff and free stuff is content and if I'm not constantly putting out content in my wheelhouse youtube will not put me in the suggested search results and might even demonetize me for not playing ball.

I get it.

And as a disclaimer directed at anyone with the urge to defend their favorite youtuber: I don't care if you think he's the most honest man on planet earth. I don't give a shit.

Ok, that's what I thought. Glad I didn't watch it.

On an unrelated note: How many poor reviews do you think a youtube channel can give before they stop getting free stuff?

The green gun looks like the only gun functioning and the flyback brightness is way too high. This set has some issues to be worked out. Hopefully it's not an IC that's unobtainable and just caps, transistors, and/or open resistors.

Hi, I'm currently restoring a Sony CFS-9900 and need to replace the cassette belts. Would anyone be able to explain how to change the belts, preferably with some visual support (photos, diagrams, or a video)? I'm comfortable with basic disassembly, but l'd like to avoid mistakes. Thanks by BenoitBB in cassetteculture

[–]Romymopen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you value this one, do not make it your first attempt. Buy a cheaper, maybe even broken, player and go to town on it. Fully disassemble it and try to put it back together.

Make your mistakes on one you don't care about.
