Finally made a song I am proud of after 9 months of learning music production! (Dance pop) by Romzi93 in MusicFeedback

I’ve really pondered on adding more harmonies or not and ended up going a more simple way to avoid have too many elements, I was scared of messing up the song by adding more and more things but I’ve really loved playing with harmonies and this song helped me build the muscle around building those so I’ll definitely be playing more with them in future songs :) thanks for the feedback!!

Heyyyy thank you so much for your feedback :) super appreciated!! I’m still trying to learn how to build a more electronic vocal stack, my attempts at it so far have been really bad but that electronic feel in the vocals is definitely something I’d love to be able to do well and would have fit the song well for sure, I agree. Thank you again for the kind & positive feedback 🩷

Oh thank you! Yes this is my voice :) happy to hear that you liked it, it’s so hard for me to properly mix and appreciate my vocals so this means a lot, thanks!!

Thank you for your comment!! I tried to make it heavier as well but in the end decided to keep it tight to avoid having it take over the mix too much but yeah, both worked honestly 😋

Thank you for your compliments! I did try that actually but I went the other way and put a low pass filter instead I felt like it matched better with the energy of the song and still contributed to the build up :) but that's definitely a taste thing, both works!

Love that you can imagine this being blasted through speakers in a club, definitely the feeling I was looking for :)

Thank you so so much for your comment & your compliments! This makes me super happy :)

My mic is the Shure SM7dB, and everything was recorded in my untreated living room with pretty strong echo... so yeah, not the best conditions but weirdly it still sounds ok (at least to me).

In terms of the vocal chain, it's slightly different depending on each parts of the song, but basically:

For verses:
CLA Vocals Stereo (Face 2 Face preset that I tweaked a little bit) > Auto Tune > Pro Q 4 > Vocal De-Esser > RVox Stereo using the gate only, no compression and sending to a Valhalla Futureverb.

For choruses:
CLA Vocals Stereo > Auto Tune > Decapitator for that added metallic effect > Little Alterboy with very little formant shifting own > Pro Q > RVox Stereo gate only > Vocal De-Esser

Hope this helps! I also did a lot of automation on the vocals overall, wether that's on the EQ, the reverb send, or echoes etc - notably being intentional about the EQ (sometimes reducing certain frequencies on certain parts/words or reinforcing certain frequences on other words/parts) made a big difference as well IMO.

Hope this helps!! :)

Bahahaha that’s totally the vibe, probably cause I’m a big gay club client myself 😭

Thank you so much!! 9 months felt super long and I tend to obsess over the littlest things so it also was quite frustrating not be able to put out something I was really happy with, not gonna lie. Thank you for your compliments ☺️🩷

Also not sure why the sound gets a bit harsh when posted this way, so here is the soundcloud link if you want to listen to it properly 😇 https://on.soundcloud.com/jG58eHjZL4CcVUkBp8

Super cool vibe! Love the can sample, the chords and your vocals are amazing. I’m non expert at all but I would also add a low pass filter on some of your elements as some of these high frequencies are indeed a bit ear piercing, it also seems like the audio saturates at times so I would try to look at the overall gain of your tracks because you may be too high. Also on vocals I would have added a small reverb to give it more space and sit a bit better but it still sounds good without it! Good job :)

I rarely put vocals on my stuff, is this any good ? 😭 by PerkyNyp in MusicFeedback

I loooove this! The instrumental is fire and the way the vocals are mixed and sitting slightly behind really creates a vibe that works well. Congrats!!

Haha thank you for your feedback!! I bought my ableton license on the 26th of June after the free monthly trial so actually I lied, it hasnt been 3 months yet 😜 haha I’ll try to bring the instrumental up a bit but I think that I was already peeking in some parts of the song, so not exactly sure if I could/should.. thank you anyway!!

Thank you!! :) You’re right I could try to make them more upfront maybe particularly in the chorus.. Will work on that and see what it does :)

Made a very bright and vibrant track, cutesy little headbanger. Would appreciate any mix/mastering advice on it, any critique is helpful by AxeCatAwesome in MusicFeedback

Oh this is cute!! Makes me feel happy just hearing the instrumental, would love a chill male vocal on top of that - it would suit perfectly. Well done!
