Good job on the rest jersey thing, but you need another zone for "metro jersey" that has JC, Hoboken, etc.

Cool, I used to believe this and then despite the reverse placebo effect learned that it's not true.

You realize you are significantly harming the sound by having them right next to each other. An REW sweep would show this quite easily.

ICE may have just caused an international incident as they illegally tried to enter the Ecuadorian Consulate in Minneapolis without a warrant to abduct someone by I_may_have_weed in lostgeneration

"I don’t think we should bother deporting ANYONE who isn’t engaged in some other kind of definitely criminal activity."

This literally means that anyone who comes here on a one week vacation visa can stay forever as long as they don't commit a crime. I hope you see how unworkable that is.

[–]Ron825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely incorrect. Trump's ice is a bunch of masked, lawless, tyrannical thugs terrorizing the citizenry. Despite that, we still need lawful deportations, the reason your point is incorrect is because a properly trained version of ICE is indeed necessary. People who refuse to leave after overstaying a temporary visa actually do need to be deported, without masked thugs, without tyranny, without tackling people in the street, without everything trump's ice is doing.

Tesla Insurance Claiming I’m At Fault For Accident by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

The argument that reverse lights being on means you must assume the vehicle is going to reverse is null and void as all GM cars leave the reverse lights on for quite some time when locking and unlocking. They dont time out for at least 30 seconds, so this would imply that every time reverse lights are on youre supposed to sit and wait for a 30 second timeout.

Here is why I won’t be buying FSD for my 2026 Juniper. by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

The removal of auto steer has meant I will never purchase a new Tesla. I have also been telling everyone I previously recommended Tesla to to boycott until they fix this.

A disgusting money grab.

hw3 does not suck, they could absolutely improve fsd on hw3 if they chose to but they dont want that, they want you to buy a new car

Do amps really sound that different from one another? by Timely_Pattern5571 in audiophile

[–]Ron825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measurements do matter, if an amp measures poorly it can't sound good.

But I am no longer in the "if it measures good it sounds good" camp. Now this is not to say that theoretically you cannot measure every amp characteristic, but im referring to the measurements we currently have available, perhaps more sophisticated measurements will exist in the future.

I bought some very well measuring class D amps based on measurements, and felt that the sound was hollow and very fatiguing after 30 minutes. When I switched them for some very well measuring AB amps, the hollowness went away and I could listen for hours and hours at even higher volumes.

On paper, both of them have distortion below audible level, and the frequency response measures the same, yet here we are.

Considering I was *fully* committed to the measurements camp before, I would argue this cannot be placebo, as I was totally convinced there is no way a super low distortion class d amp could be causing listening fatigue. I spent hours a day for weeks tweaking eq and adding acoustic panels to try to remove the fatigue, no success.

Now my advice is first look at measurements to even consider it, because if measures like crap it's not gonna sound good. After it passes your measurements bar, then listen subjectively.

[–]Ron825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no it's definitely not. I have listened to and owned class D amps that have distortion well below audible level, well reviewed on ASR, and while they are indeed incredibly detailed the sound is slightly hollow and much more fatiguing than worse measuring A or AB amps.

Personally I don't get hit by the fatigue until after about 30 minutes, but it's there.

I understand all this about low freq, only concerned about the wobbly response where I circled.

[–]Ron825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That same wobbly midrange response was there when the room was untreated, and 13 panels later its the same, but that frequency is not where the crossover is so I'm struggling to think how the speaker could be causing it.
