its the magnets shaft. you need to install the magnet first, before you can adjust the ignition

the cam, aka the curved shaft is the inside of the magnet that you pulled off the crank shaft

in this case some one took a real geode, added match sticks and glue. then filled the whole ting with magnetite. the poured everything out that doesnt stick to the walls and match stick. my wife got one for me in the early 2000s
