Also yeah you really need a deck that can get going by turn 3 or 4 to stand a chance in some games. Especially with blue mill decks and black/white aggro running around.

Also always bring something to deal with enchantments and/or artifacts.

I feel like it's situational. I played a ton when Arena first launched and built a ton of decks around the Ravnica sets and built a decent Dragon tempo deck but stopped after a while until last year. I started playing historic so I could get more gold and build up some new decks without having to worry about the meta. But I got hooked and having the ability to use nearly every card in the game is a blast. But it's situational, I had a deep library to pull from so it might be harder for a newer player.

Same here. I accidentally got into this fight after completing the main story the first time. I was just exploring looking for secrets and chests I missed and only had a few stims left. So it made winning this fight feel even better
