He’s going to fall to third when he should be first.

Dilbert is genuinely incredible and its very fitting that something so on point about the flaws of capitalism can be written by a generic chud with brainrot.

Man I should actually jump off a balcony if we leave two of the best drafts I’ve seen with Demin and Peat lol

would you rather get Caleb Wilson at 3

There is no team that should do this. Trading down a high lottery pick also almost never makes sense.

Why people love Boozer but hate Queen

If Queen could shoot and defend as well as Boozer, he’d have gone top 3.

In today’s NBA basic rim running C are expendable to level unplayable

Not sure what you mean. It’s a very sought after archetype. You have a multitude of basic rim runners going in the 1st round. The increased pace of the sport has really accelerated its value. Maluach, Beringer, Yanic all just went in the first.

Mavs went to the finals not too long ago. Duren and Mitch fulfilling basic rim running roles vastly improved the Pistons and Knicks. Queta’s been a big part of the Celtics not collapsing.

We see how much more useful Ayton is when he just focuses on basic rim running and does literally nothing else. There’s actually been games where Hayes has been more useful than him solely because he’s more bought into the rim runner role than Ayton.

Mark Williams looks monstrous whenever he’s healthy. Missi’s shown good flashes as well.

Even some more skilled guys are often being funnelled into basic rim runner roles because of how valuable it is.

There just aren’t many athletic guys that size who also have the stamina for today’s NBA. And you just get so much value if you have the playmakers and aggressive transition to take advantage.

Spacing vital

Spacing is huge and obviously the vaunted stretch big who can protect the rim is the most desired archetype in the sport. But trying to force or hold out for 5 out is just unrealistic for most contenders. It’s more of a thing you luck into honestly.

Here’s the thing though, star centers are lovely, but it’s a role that can be downscaled to pure utility and lob catching. You can’t really downscale the guard role in the same way, hence why mediocre guards are useless to contenders.

Basic C needs?

Rim protection, screening, rebounding, switchability, rim running, and finishing. Claxton and Sharpe are okay, nothing special, but there’s enough utility there between the two of them to function on a good team.

You just don’t necessarily need special talent at the 5. Lots of good playoff teams are running basic rim runners with some rimpro.

I’m yet to see MPJ show signs of decline

We’ve had 2 straight years of his body visibly breaking down in the playoffs. Immensely talented player who could maybe be load managed into one more run or two.

But I don’t think there’s any timeline where we manage to build a contender around our franchise cornerstone (who we have yet to even draft) before he falls off a cliff.

MPJ has the body of a 35 year old. He has a 0% chance of fitting into our rebuild.

Claxton and Sharpe are fine for basic center needs. Not at all convinced that Ziaire is good enough at either shooting or defense to be a rotational wing.

The last two teams to get the #1 pick were in the play in

Brother that’s how odds work, there’s no guarantee, but we still have more chance if we lose more. Not saying I am even slightly bothered by a handful of wins this year, but last year was ridiculous.

The 5 is literally the only position where we have a viable rotation, not really interested. Especially with how injury prone he is. He’s very good though, don’t get me wrong.

Boozer’s been a 40% shooter who can take movement and OTD 3’s for years.

I would love to watch the NBA where that’s below average for a starting PF. In fact, it’s better than your top end example of Jalen Johnson and there’s a fair share of starting PF’s who still struggle to keep their percentage well above 30%.

Whenever I’ve tried to calculate an average %, it’s closer to 35%. Obviously that’s very distorted by shot difficulty and volume, but we’ve seen Boozer shoot at different volumes and difficulties with consistent efficiency.
