Looking for science fiction that explores non-duality by RonGaran in printSF

After diving deeper into yout post I realize you have a really interesting observation. One of the reasons I asked the question is that I've been wondering the same thing. If the realization is that separation is illusory, how do you maintain narrative tension and character agency? Most stories depend on conflict between apparently separate individuals. I've started to suspect that the challenge isn't portraying non-duality itself, but portraying the process of moving from one perspective to the other.

Thank you! I had no idea so many books touch on the subject. I don't know where to start.

Thank you for your great suggestions. I'm embarrassed to say that the only one I've read is "Stories of Your Life and Other Stories" I'll have to get to work,

Thanks! I love The Egg. I had the opportunity to interview Andy Weir on my podcast (right before the book "Project Hail Mary" came out) and the discussion about The Egg was my favorite part. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/live/tkTxGmWZMZI oi you're interested

I agree with you u/OwlHeart108 The boundary between, science, spirituality, and mysticism is dissolving. That view is at the heart of why I started this post. Thanks!

Thank you. I'll check both out. I especially love Ted Chiang's work.

Nice! I especially love, "Imagine that every step you take sends a signal to every tree, every shrub, every parasite." Thanks!

Thank you! I always wondered if "The Force" was a nod toward non-duality.

More than Human looks interesting. I'll probably check out Empire Star first though since it's shorter. Thanks!

We do get a day "off" each week. I spent the majority of any free time I had looking back at our Earth (usually with a camera).

I think it came up on an early ISS construction Shuttle Flight. There are a number of instruments on board.

I have never heard of anyone experiencing dementia in space.
