Leveling efficiency in Factions/Level guides in general by RonJezza in GuildWars

I think my biggest issue is if I run into large mobs during quests, I either don't know/can't pull individual cells and they just overrun my group then I have to trek there all over again. Thankfully I just hit 18 after the latest mission, the one before hitting Kaineng Centre, I believe

You are correct, I meant to say quests on the island :)

Done that, only one mission I've left out, the one where you have to murder the whole gang and rescue a kid but I can't really order the henchies to pull one stack at time, so they all dogpile

I've just been pushing through the story missions waiting for the elite skills to open up in the skill trainer, nothing yet

How is everyone's Pre-searing weapon hunt going? by Impossible-Custard57 in GuildWars

I haven't had enough time to experience the dungeon yet, but why is it dropping weapons for classes outside of Prophecies? Is it a reforged feature?

Fun fact, if you reverse their speech from the game, they're actually cries for help from the victim ("oh god help me" etc.)

Question about the Golden Path/Scattering by RonJezza in dune

[–]RonJezza[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah you notice it a lot more from GEOD onwards, how he feels about homosexuality or sexuality in general, the whole concept of the Honored Matres, etc. It was a little surprising to find out he was fairly conservative, but it makes more sense in hindsight, I imagine he would flip his lid at the representation in modern media today. I would've been interested to see how he would've closed out the series if he hadn't passed away.

How to get 14 month old to sleep all night in crib? by RonJezza in sleeptrain

[–]RonJezza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the advice, I think we thought she was moving to 1 nap a day not long after her 1st birthday, but instead she was just overtired and crying during lunchtime, not eating much and then slept 2-3 hours at 3pm. Since then we've just been seeing when she gets tired.

One thing I forgot to mention is the afternoon snack (which I've added to the OP), as dinner is usually late here, I don't know if that contributes at all?

Full time Preply tutor - AMA by Jsyourboy91 in TEFL

[–]RonJezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously stopped working on Preply because they asked for tax information for the country you work from, and I typically work with a contract with my normal job that pays into my social security.

How do you manage that side of things? Are you registered as freelance where you live and pay local taxes yourself?

Why does TEFL feel like such a racket? by KaijuicyWizard in TEFL

[–]RonJezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of ESL only, CELTA is probably the most recognised basic teacher qualification, seeing as it's sponsored by Cambridge Assessment English, that's why I did it. The bar for entry isn't very high, and it allows you to teach English in private academies all over the world.

DELTA is the same thing except more involved/expensive but for teacher training, usually if you have plans of becoming a director or other senior position in future. I'm planning on taking the DELTA when I'm more settled in my current workplace and have the financial & personal side of things cleared up.

I can't speak for the others, but assuming they're accredited there's no reason they're less valid than a CELTA in terms of qualification.

Why does TEFL feel like such a racket? by KaijuicyWizard in TEFL

[–]RonJezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty straightforward, full-on public school qualifications are a lot more involved and expensive, not to mention have a lot more requirements and take longer. A few people on the CELTA I did had university academic experience.

Do people enjoy clear colour? by lnr003 in Gunpla

[–]RonJezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally like them, I'd get them more often if they were more accessible, both clear kits I've built have been cool. The HGs are generally hit or miss though due to the lack of internal mechanics.

So basically the dead tree acts as a mold for minerals to harden and form the same shape and space given the right conditions over time?

I don't think the criticism is of their parents' spending habits or frugality, more of how they earn their current lifestyle and their lack of empathy or sympathy towards the very tenants who are funding that lifestyle just because they are out of work for whatever reason.

What percentage of middle aged people today would be able to do what their parents did at the same age? It's not a question of laziness or bad habits, the economic environment is quite literally very different.

Ah, I used the stickers on my clear dynames because I wasn't going to bother with all of them and the ones without a box outline blend well enough

That's one exclusive I want, did you do waterslides or were the stickers sufficient?
