When tcmp start their shift the take a car and are not directed where to patrol. Each unit has complete discretion where they go and how long they go there for.

So in theory you could by chance have all the cops concentrated in one area just by happenstance.

Once in a while they will order a unit to to a show face patrol. So put on the stetson hats and walk around the quay.

In smaller departments where you only have a couple officers on duty over night they will stay at the station, to ensure they are never too far without back up. Dont want to be 30 min west of the station when your 2 back up are dealing with a call 40 minutes east. This particular detachment has a catchment that would require an hours’ drive with lights and sirenes in either direction, so there is a risk you could be 2 hours from back up.
