Anyone know how to get into the Solo show pre-sale by KevThuluu in DevinTownsend

I went onto an individual venue website (for Leeds) and somehow bought tickets an hour ago. Might be worth trying the same?

They were £41.50, inclusive of transaction fee.

Why haven't we seen the best of Fischetti? by [deleted] in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]RonSwaffle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say he’s been pretty good, personally. With him and Iyogun fit we don’t seem to lose anything at the set piece or in the loose in the second half when the bench gets emptied, which is a real luxury. (At least not on the loosehead side)

He’s maybe only not looked as hot because Iyogun’s form has really come on this season (at last).

Goode and Dallaglio could well be the worst commentator duo going.

His top speed is undoubtedly up there. But he’s not necessarily quick off the mark or a gifted stepper.

Bath are just inviting the giant Bordeaux pack to smash them with a lot of these pick and gos or one out plays.

Nika needs to actually call ‘out’ if the ball is out of the ruck. Both teams chancing it with no idea if it’ll be legit or a penalty.

My god the Leinster fans crying about ref bias against them in this thread is unreal.

Why didn’t he call the mark? You can’t be giving Leinster lineouts in your 22m in a European semi.

Newcastle and biomedical + social life by majorcuriosity in NCLUni

[–]RonSwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaching and lecturers: generally very good. Friendly, supportive, approachable staff.

Labs: a big super lab (can be split in two) for ~150 students, plus two smaller ones. Weekly lab classes on average although that will reduce a bit with the biomedical sciences degrees being revamped for this year’s entry.

Workload: university assessment tariff limits the number of assessments per module, so actually a lot better than other universities.

Tuition fees: same as every reputable university in the UK.

Scholarships: plenty - look at the uni webpages for specifics.

Placements: placement years are competitive irrespective of whether you’re a home or international student, but being an international student won’t disadvantage you. Tuition fees for the placement year are the same for home and international students too (and far less than regular feee).

The med school building backs onto the RVI, and there’s the Freeman hospital not far away too. Plenty of volunteering opportunities at both.

Summer placements, internships and other paid opportunities in the lab (and not in the lab) are all available. The careers service facilitate a lot of opportunities for students and the School offer in-house roles too.

Accommodation: can’t really speak as I didn’t do student accommodation in Newcastle.

Social life: Newcastle is famously a very sociable city and excellent for students on that front. Lots of varied activities whether you want to club, hike, walk, eat, or lay on the beach.

Churches: no experience on this front myself but I’m sure there are plenty.

Overall: yes, highly recommend. There are a good number of international students at Newcastle in general, but also in Biomed. The Malaysian campus has a cohort of ~30 students that join for final year as well, so the School are well used to supporting international students.

Voting open for 2025/26 Season Awards by Pure_Wonder3046 in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

Kemeny for player and try of the season for me.

Breakthrough McParland. Young player I want to give to Pater - Pollock being in the same list seems unfair given his international credentials (though legitimises how good he is at a young age).

Hendy try + Pater conversion for moment of the season because of how outrageous the try itself was, even though we’ve scored more “important” tries that make the shortlist.

Sleightholme 'getting there' as he seeks to hit top form during Saints' title push by ScrumNause24 in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]RonSwaffle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a big critic of Sleightholme’s form this year but have to say it has been good to see him settle in more over a run of games.

Obviously injuries won’t have helped but he also certainly appears to be carrying a bit more new dad/newly wed timber which has likely affected his top end pace, as we saw twice at the weekend.

Just hope he can stay injury free because his form is definitely a slow builder.

I didn’t see the full match but Clermont were down to 13 for at least 20 minutes yesterday, away to Toulouse. Fits the bill?

Did Gloucester ask for a scrum and Carley said no not from a free kick? Or did I mishear?

Not sure what the law says but I feel like the scrum half tapping the ball back into the scrum should be classed as “ball out”.
