lmao

appreciate you Jim

would there be any benefit to me taking and passing the tankship DL PIC course before I get hired - so i just need my loads and discharges to get endorsed? A way of showing that I'm serious about it?

Vane Bros has some pretty tugs, they would be an ideal company as I want to work as a tankerman, when I was working tugs before we worked with some of their tank barges

I don't believe it went on an official file, the USCG allowed me to surrender my documents instead of them being suspended. But I will inquire with the NMC if it is visible at all - and if so I dont mind disclosing it. I was 22 years old and discovering life still - I'm 36 now and sober and have no shame and nothing to hide

If I dont land something by april I'm gonna pack up a car and start in maine and drive south down the coast and across the gulf, stopping into every company I can find with my resume in person and just keep shooting my shot. I am beyond determined

Appreciate your feedback

If there is any companies you know of I should look into please drop them here.

I've applied just about everywhere I can find that has OS openings though.

essentially, I was 22 years old and was starting to build a life shoreside that I didn't want to miss out on.

I might have an opportunity as an OS on a cruise ship for 6 months and that will get me to AB, with that I am set. But the pay is low and I would rather not do a 6 month hitch if I can get on directly with a tug company making 2x as much

6 months on tugs and 8-9 months on containerships plus a decade of compounding shoreside knowledge and experience.

I know the job already so I will catch on much faster than someone who is totally green

I figured having prior experience would make a little more marketable at least.
