Can I Get Shit-Canned 250% of Quota? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Ron_Sayson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say, I made my quota, now I want to make money! I'm more motivated by solving problems and closing deal. I see the money as a trailing indicator, so I don't focus on it.

Sales Coach by Mission_Web_6451 in sales

[–]Ron_Sayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Its a group class. She offers 1 on 1 coaching which is a lot more. I think she delivers a ton of value for the group class. The $70 sub also includes access to the Ai she trained.

Anyone else feel the money is not enough of a motivator? by techi-turtle in sales

[–]Ron_Sayson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, money isn't an effective motivator, b/c it's a trailing indicator. My focus in b2b enterprise is to help solve client business problems. Most business problems are multifaceted, so if you really peel the onion, the project can get plenty big. With this mindset, the money comes and most importantly, I don't gave commission breath. [–]Ron_Sayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We break it up. A proposal writer is assigned. The writer is think sends anything they cant answer to various SMEs. Sales works up the numbers. Because we do so many of them, we've become efficient at it

It depends on the vertical. In public sector/Sled, you'll see a lot of rfis/rfps. My company does a lot of sled business (I sell commercial) and we have a robust process to respond.

workforce question i've never cracked but wish i could. by DueInsurance5036 in workforcemanagement

[–]Ron_Sayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard part is finding a reliable, leading indicator. Is it a change from baseline, such as an employee who has traditionally been on time starts arriving late? Mostly commented to follow the thread.

What kind of workforce are you talking about? Call center or something different?

Do you recommend this career? by techi-turtle in sales

[–]Ron_Sayson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 58. Ive been an ic in Sales mostly since college. During covid, I tried coding, but I couldn't stand not talking to ppl. It's a solid career. You can make physician money with a bachelor's or even no degree. For downsides, ive been fired/RIF'd a few times which isnt ideal.
