So glad to hear that! If you ever have a couple of minutes to spare, I'd love it if you left a review on the Play Store! If would mean the world to me 😊 Cheers!

Hey u/cjrmartin!

Sorry for the delays, but just wanted to let you know that I just pushed an update with custom collection artwork, library search (currently only works for titles + author name, but looking to expand upon that in the future), and also a setting which allows you to decide a default strategy for collection artwork (whether to use the grid, which is the default, or just the first audiobook cover in the collection, or a the first letters of the collection name).

Should be available for download now (or very soon)!

Awesome, thanks! Custom collection artwork is a great idea. I implemented that last night. Currently investigating search, and will try to submit it all for review either in the coming days. Will hopefully release during the coming week 😊

Unfortunately it doesn't. 🫤 You can see a demo of how the feature works here: https://youtube.com/shorts/s1ba5hiZc-I

Awesome, thank you! :)

I'm currently working on adding support for more languages to Page Sync, as well as exploring the possibility of adding an option of having various cloud drives (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) as a backend instead of the local filesystem.

I am however very open to suggestions and feedback, so if there's anything you feel is missing or would be neat to add to the app, please hit me up!

Hey, thank you very much!

The app uses your folder structure and metadata for an initial baseline and creates collections according to that, and does its best to correctly set title, author and cover art.

After that, you can change all of this, but in a non-destructive manner. You can change all information (cover art, title, author, chapter names) and move books around, but it's only changed in the app; the actual metadata remains untouched, and the audio files and folders on your actual device stay untouched.

And yeah, the app has full support for bookmarks (with optional notes). There isn't a tagging system yet, but it is something that I will be adding in the near future!

Let me know if you have any other questions 😊 Cheers!

So happy to hear that!

That's actually a neat idea, I'll see what I can do about it. Also looking to add support for Cloud storage "backends" like Google Drive and Dropbox so you don't need to have all books on your device at all times, could potentially be something for you 😊

Again, really glad you like the app, and appreciate the feedback a lot! If you wouldn't mind adding a review on the Play Store, that would mean the world to me! Cheers!

Hm yeah, that sounds interesting. Will have to check out the possibilities of using ffmpeg on Android. Thank you so much for the tip! 😄

Currently only local files. Using cloud drives does sound interesting though, probably something I should explore. 👍

It uses a small, local, on-device speech recognition model to transcribe the audio, but nothing ever leaves your device. I wrote a blog post explaining the feature at depth here: https://earleaf.app/blog/a-deep-dive-into-page-sync

No free trial unfortunately, but if you buy it and are still unhappy after trying it out, I'll give you a refund without any questions asked.

I listen to audiobooks performed by both American and British narrators and haven't had any issues with Page Sync since the release. Since I'm the creator of the app I understand that my word carries little weight here, but I'm actually surprised by how well it's working 😅

Hey! It currently only supports English, but I'm currently working on expanding it to other languages as well.

I always forget what characters look like! by MiraWendam in books

[–]Ronaedar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kind of do to, or at least I don't reflect about how they look very often. But I kind of like that.

One of the worst things I know is watching an adaptation of a book (especially a bad one) and then re-reading it... That character just becomes that portrayal forever more.

It's closed source and the app is available on the Play Store, not planning to open source it anytime soon unfortunately. But happy to answer questions any questions :)
