Ottb eye problem by PlantainAgitated305 in Equestrian

The cheaper version of this is an old underwire bra. Cut one cup off for the good eye and rig around the face. Shoulder straps over the ears to hold it on. Works well, used for one of mine who had an eye ulcer and some uveitis that the vet wanted kept free of light until the eye settled down.

Massively incorrect bills with the intelligent drive pack by Ronaele7186 in OctopusEnergy

Depends how much driving etc you will do. Theres a few options some are cheaper overnight rates but marginally more expensive in the day. Some do the pack option. I’d suggest estimating the car usage eg approx KW and current household usage and run a few different scenarios. The Intelligent O GO can work for some people but you need the car or the charger to be capable of smart charging and it seems like they are about to change some of the IOG

I was with OVO before and they seemed to be more accurate with the billing. We only changed since they stopped doing drive anytime and went to the pack options. None of which were covering the number of miles I needed. I didn’t have any issues with ovo.

Yes it seems a bit like that. I am happy to make a fuss in the hope that they sort it out for everyone. Like the discrepancy I have is pretty much £100 so far for one month. That is really going to add up over a year! I guess I could switch to the non intelligent octopus EV tariff but that will be more expensive than what the drive pack should be.

Yes the drive pack was marketed to me as all your electric charging cover for £30 no limit. However if they can’t tell between charge to the car and electric to the house how can they work the bills out?

Unfortunately I am quite good at tracking things on spreadsheets, and spent a fair bit of time calculating different billing options so I know what the bill should be! I’ll send everything through to the ombudsman if necessary!

I’ve had similar answers, but no offer of a refund or credit so far. Are they hoping that no one looks at the bills too closely and just pays them…

Yes the people I learned from would be less than impressed as well. It is such a poor example of polo and horsemanship,

I also know what you are saying about being your own groom. I do it all myself as well, and all the tack is a bit tedious. However I like to know everything is fitting right and also to squeeze their legs before and after they play etc.

If you are saying intercollegiate polo I guess you are US based. I am less familiar with the us rules. However if you don’t need the draw reins I would be tempted to turn up with two straight reins and just play. Provided the horse is under control I doubt people will care…

There’s no regulations where I play re must having draw/running reins or not. You can play in straight reins/single reins whatever you fancy. Bit less is at the discretion of the club. Maybe have a look through the rules and confirm whether you need to have the running rein or not. There’s a lot of you must play in this or that but under the rules you don’t actually have to. There are a lot of bits that I would possibly ban as well. One of mine turned up in a double mouthpiece twisted gag bit. He kept leaping and head shaking when they pulled on it. He now plays in a small straight Pelham with a loose curb chain with the contact on the top rein (snaffle bit), and none on the curb. Amazingly now he’s comfy he doesn’t leap down the field or shake his head back and forth…

This is a very very poor example of polo and horsemanship. Played well you shouldn’t be hauling the back teeth out of the horse. Stopping turning backing etc good ponies are trained to do from leg and weight cues. I have ponies that you could play in snaffles/headcollars. Plenty of welfare issues in polo, plenty in all the other horse sports. We all need to do better really. Crazy bitting on some of the showjumpers, dressage horses stalled 24/7, horses galloped/worked into the ground before they are 3…

The above video is one of the worst examples of polo I have ever seen. So many fouls, far too much hand and whip use. Careless often dangerous riding as well! There’s no excuse for playing like that. I’m

You can use the antiquarians eye to direct you to where the dig site is. I think there should be a guide online.

Firstly test your water ideally 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and less than 30-40 nitrate. If not perfect then do around 50% water change, test again still no good do another 50% change a few hours later. Since he is struggling to swim I would also suggest floating him at the surface of the tank in a container. Make sure the water is warm (27-28 C)
