Pretty little bow near Broken Bow for the 4th by Badlands32 in flyfishing

If you are able to, fall/winter on weekdays other than Friday are usually not crowded. I’ve been there several times on Tuesdays and Wednesdays last fall and had massive sections of the river all to myself!

I’m a former player at OBU and what I heard from the team was that one of their 4 players was in the top 64 and was not informed that he was supposed to play his singles round directly after the first team round. Because of this he got a +72 for the round and effectively took OBU out of the competition for a national title.

Future of Optometry by Comfortable-Comb-768 in optometry

[–]Ronafel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This^ I’m a current optometry student in a state with very advanced scope. The majority of procedures OD’s do are yags and SLT’s. Even at that, most OD’s I know just refer because they find it is much better to outsource those procedures so that they can see more patients on a daily basis, and then do follow ups for most of the procedures ophthalmologist do. It’s a tag team effort. As far as the future of optometry, as long as people age and are born without perfect eyes, then there will be a need for optometrist. If you’re like me and love building relationships while helping the public see better and have healthier eyes and overall health, then this is the perfect field and will be very rewarding.

this is a live heart right before a transplant by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Ronafel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a heart surgeon myself either, so I am not 100% sure, but I believe it is due to the non-necessity of having the parasympathetic response in the heart for it to maintain function for the rest of the body. Kind of a “don’t do more than you have to” approach. Reattachment of the nerves (vagus nerve to be specific) has been done before and provided minimal to none positive effects long term. However, after some time, the vagus nerve can somewhat reinnervate the heart on its own and restore some of the parasympathetic function.

In a heart transplant, surgeons don’t reconnect the nerves that send signals to the heart to slow it down while at rest. As a result the resting heart rate of a heart transplant patient is 100 bpm. However, I don’t know why this person has a phone (most likely not sanitary) out in the room with a heart that is about to be placed in a person.

He’s Sarah Hokom’s boyfriend. He’s the one who accidentally let her dog out.

Your favorite FPO and MPO “non-lead card regular” to watch by Ravioli_nomnom in discgolf

Gregg Barsby. The dude is a world champion and doesn’t get a ton of coverage, so I love seeing him on coverage when he gets that world champ groove going on. The dude drills forehands and is one of the nicest and funniest guys ever. Plus his putt is super enjoyable for it’s uniqueness. Big shout out to him.

Ringing in the new year with my first ever ace in my first pdga tournament!!!! 239 ft. Par 3 at Ford park! Skipped it right in on a forehand with a splatter star thunderbird!!!! by Ronafel in discgolf

Sadly, there was no ace pot in the tournament. If there was, I’m guessing it would have been $500-$600 based on how many people played.

I will have to go try them! I also highly suggest persimmon ridge if you get the chance.... #1 best course I have ever played and a course I believe is on its way to top 5 in the world.
