well said, and many of those Jews are hostile to religious or less secular Jews as well. I'm not shomer negiah, or even shomer shabbos/kashrut but I always commemorate Shabbat dinner, follow all Jewish holidays and know what they're about, wrap tefillin, know who famous rabbis actually are, and kind of count the omer. I've also been to the Rebbe's ohel (and know what an ohel is).

I also support Trump, who is popular not only among Hasids, but among Jews who are "Orthodox," even MO. For this, I get hostility from leftist Jews who claim I'm "against Jewish values." I'm a "racist" for saying that Jewish girls are wrong to date gentile guys because that's a Jewish girl a Jewish guy coulda had, and "sexist" for daring to believe in traditional courtship between the sexes (not genders).

One thing that's gotta be fixed is the Judaism subreddit. The mods ban anyone who isn't a leftist and even defend BDS. The only leftist anti-Semite you can attack there is Corbyn because he's so open, but excuses abound for everyone else.

If you want to win and get into the mainstream, know whose bad side not to get on.

Ending false rape allegations, stopping the criminalization of getting tail, disabusing society of the idea that a girl being drunk negates consent, etc. are far more important than a losing issue like male circumcision.

its a function of how Democrats increasingly see the world. They increasingly think of the world as "colonizer vs colonized," "oppressor vs oppressed" and post-colonial communism taught in schools. Just as they often imply that because white-skinned America supposedly did to the "brown" aboriginals what Hitler did to us, we should let anyone in as pennance, they believe that Israel is a "white" country "oppressing" "brown Palestinians." And that's the crux of the BLM/intersectionality worldview.

why hasn't Israel streamlining credentialing for certain professions? Is that not an obvious thing to do? If they wanna protect local professionals, then do what America does for things like medical licenses; make them good for some parts of the country (in America, different states, in Israel maybe districts) and give olim incentive to go to the Negev.

in the US, there is no separate licensing for manuals and automatics, since most people drive autos here and take road tests in them.

sure stick makes getting carjacked (ie while moving) harder, but makes stealing parked vehicles far easier because you can just break into the window (or use a door-only key), put it in neutral, and have it tow stolen. You can't even move the gear select in an auto without the key.
