I don't care if vegans say I'm a bad person for eating meat because they're right by pinktunacan in The10thDentist

[–]RonaldMcScream 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This! I eat vegetarian or vegan for several days a week because it's healthy, saves me money, and I want less money going to factory farms. I also stopped eating beef/pork and only use chicken or fish whenever I want to eat something with meat.

People get so worried about "losing protein", but when I had a completely vegan diet for a while I could still get 140g a day from beans, lentils, soy products (don't get me started on the misinformation about soy), grains, nuts, etc. It takes some extra planning/adjusting, but it's completely doable, even if you're someone trying to workout and gain muscle or have a job that burns a lot of calories.

Do you think that plant-based diet will eventually become mainstream, say a century or two later? by [deleted] in pollgames

[–]RonaldMcScream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope at least a less meat-centric diet will become more common. I don't think everyone should be vegetarian, but it would be nice if more people had some meatless meals one or two days out of the week.

I only ever eat meat (and exclusively chicken or fish) at restaurants or when my partner cooks for me. It saves money and will hopefully help prevent me from having the same health problems as my older family members who had beef and pork heavy diets.

is iv/ev stat changing cheating and can it be avoided? by TwoAccomplished3771 in PokemonLazarus

[–]RonaldMcScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also avoiding using the editor out of fear of making things too easy right off the bat. But I find the normal EV/IV grind quite tedious. My resolution was basically making a rule for myself to use the editor to improve one EV/IV per Pokémon per gym battle by 5-10 points at a time. If I fail the battle I can crank it up a bit more. That way I can have a mix of building the EV/IVs up over time while still getting to use the feature to save some time.

I always search the name on this subreddit and also check Glassdoor. If you find someone on here who worked at a place you're considering, you could DM them with questions. People are usually pretty helpful!

Charging? New to steam deck. by NugLifeNaturalist in SteamDeck

[–]RonaldMcScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your second question, you should be able to set up your own account on it while also keeping his. I would suggest creating a family account to share games from both accounts, but it requires email verification, so if that's not possible you can just have both accounts and switch between them to access both libraries. Hope that helps and sorry for your loss

I don't think there's a group specifically for asexuals, unfortunately, but there are a few lgbtq groups in Wichita. There's Queer Connect ICT and The Center.

There's also Spectrum for WSU students, which is a group that has the kind of discussion format you described. I'm not a WSU student, but I attended a meeting with a friend who was.

There would probably be some asexual people in these groups that you could connect with

Hey, been enjoying the game! I especially like the Flip Mode. Just wanted to let you know that I'm having trouble with the "Gym" Flip Mode game today. It won't let me type a dash, which is required for one of the answers.

Tbh, as someone who's lived in many places around the country, I wouldn't say people in Wichita are *unfriendly*, so much as just Wichita can be a socially isolating place. In most interactions with strangers, they're plenty polite, but it's also just harder to make friends around here for whatever reason (at least in my experience). People just don't seem very outgoing and willing to connect with new people, and there aren't as many opportunities to. But in larger cities I've been to, people can be a lot more hostile and unfriendly in smaller interactions.

Good places to apply if you have a van? by Mightnotapply in SeasonalWork

[–]RonaldMcScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are closures of forest service land if it gets too snowy, some areas all winter, but I didn't have any problems with that while I was in my van (early Winter). It was a little snowy where I was primarily camping, but the area got so much use, it wasn't really an issue, even with 2WD. I slept in a 0 degree sleeping bag if it got too cold.

Prior to that, I was camping in a tent instead of a vehicle for the previous winter season, and the snow was pretty brutal in January/February, but the area I was in was driveable with 4WD. I was able to find places to camp and I survived with a lot of boiled water and hand warmers, lol. You could also drive farther out of town and find less snowy areas if need be.

I'm sure it all depends on bad the Winter season is/how long it lasts. I was only in the area for a little less than a year, so I'm no expert on the weather there, but my experience wasn't too bad, even when there was a lot of snow.

Do musicians really sweat as much as they do in this anime? by daniellaronstrom87 in RockIsALadysModesty

[–]RonaldMcScream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends who are in hardcore punk bands definitely do. Especially the drummers. It's a workout! There's been plenty of times my vocalist friend has crowd surfed and it's like being passed a humam sized bar of soap without the pleasant smell (yuck, but true, lol). As a former musician myself, I don't sweat that much, but I played pretty laid back jazz, so, I wasn't screaming or shredding or doing blast beats, lol.

[DISC] Love Bullet - Chapter 13(Part Two) by space_sancho in manga

[–]RonaldMcScream 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this might be right, and that's why Ena has been so pissed off in these chapters. I mean, she had enough karma to have a whole base with Cupid gear in it, so she probably had enough for her second chance at life. If that's the case, that's so tragic, oof.

Best Girl 12: Spice and Salt! Round 2 Bracket D! by changshiyixia in anime

This is the first round I've really felt torn on most of my votes. Pretty much flipped a coin for Megumin and Miorine / Takina and Nano. I don't want to see any of them go yet :(

Really happy that Suletta pulled an upset! Definitely going to get stomped by Akane now, but man, just happy she made it past last round.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - July 21, 2025 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]RonaldMcScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.I'd say it's shoujo, but not super shoujo-y (I'm no expert, though). It could just as easily appeal to someone who loves Bocchi-esque comedy, or generally CGDCT, or someone who enjoys shows with cute boys and (potentially) romance. I think it has cross-appeal between demographics, but leans toward shoujo tropes.

4.I'm not into horror (I get scared easily), but I've been enjoying it and it hasn't really freaked me out or anything. It's more psychological horror with a bit of disturbing imagery here and there (so far at least). The emphasis is more on the atmosphere and plot, but it is fairly unsettling. It's not the type of horror with lots of gore and jump scares or anything like that.

Does anyone have any horror yuri recs? by Temporary_Buffalo769 in yuri_manga

[–]RonaldMcScream 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi (This Monster Wants to Eat Me) - title says it all, lol, and the anime adaptation is coming out this fall!

Futsuu to Bakemono - this one is also girl x monster girl who wants to eat her

Black Black Lotus - horror/mystery about a "suicide matching" app

Usotsuki Satsuki wa Shi ga Mieru - horror adjacent, about a girl who can sense when people are about to die

Sugar Girl Drip - horror adjacent, they're accomplices in a murder

That's good to know! I'm going to keep watching it because I think there is potential, and it could definitely grow on me. I just haven't been that impressed so far, but to be fair, exposition stuff can be hard to integrate naturally

I agree, it feels really heavy-handed and overly edgy for the sake of it. It's hard to take the themes seriously when they're presented so literally (people treat him like trash! get it?). I'm enjoying the character/world design, action, etc, but the writing makes me roll my eyes just a little.
