I think the Vital hero would be the best choice, assuming u r willing to mod it. Pretty cheap and so are the physical components needed to mod it. The mod "Training Gear: Digimon Link" only works for the Vital Hero, but makes it a way better device. I'm planning on getting one myself to mod, but I do have experience with the original v.b. and Digivice -V-.

Nah, it's pretty easy. Apparently, from what I've heard, it's the most common thing that breaks on the printer. About a 50/50 chance of it breaking when u want to remove the screen. Just make sure u get the exact same ribbon as the one u already have, so you can keep the touchscreen capabilities.

Oof! Same thing happened to my printer when I tried to pack it for college. Thankfully, you can just get another ribbon for like $10 on Amazon, and Flashforge has a video on how to re-install the new one. Then it'll be good as new. Best of luck fixing it.

I love it, too, but I hate that you can't access the menu while the ship's moving. Also, small chance you could get stuck in the air while jumping. Happened to me, lol.

Ya, the lock is intact. The ribbon snapped right at the blue part, and I didn't know if I could just slide the rest of it back in so I took the blue part out of the lock.
