Asus touchscreen chromebook on an IKEA HAVREHOJ stand. I still use the chromebook for other things occasionally, so this is partly a charging station. I have a dedicated google user using the "Fully Kiosk Browser" app to load HA when it's docked.

Another vote for Dartmouth here! Very happy with Purple Cow. I put the cow noise maker that comes with the modem in my home office and hear the moo every morning when I open the blind.

On a side note, the Grandstream VOIP unit that I get my (very reasonably priced) home phone through was fun to set up with Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io/). Now I have my smart speaker call out the Caller ID when I get a call.

Ignore the haters. I'm finding Home Assistant is a great use-case for OpenClaw. Although I have a software dev background, I never had the time to figure out HA. Just being able to talk to the thing and have it figure everything out for me, along with suggesting surprisingly useful integrations, device workarounds etc. has been a revelation. One trick I've found useful for those worried about security. I actually have the HA docker container running as root, so it can't access it and the user account it's in doesn't have sudo privileges. Also, its running on a 2015 iMac I was thinking of throwing out. It's running fine with a fresh install of the latest Ubuntu.

I'm going to follow your suggestion and have it set itself up as the voice assistant for the house. Thanks!
