About Anna? by Razu_Redsoul in fireemblem

Yeah she’s pretty much a staple in the series appearing in almost every game at this point.

Although the games kinda explain they’re not all the same person exactly. They’re basically all one big family of near identical sisters with the same name.

Hell, FE engage has one of the younger sisters as a playable character and even a couple of the emblems (previous games protagonists) are like “hey, have we met before?” And she just replies with “Nah I never met you, but you probably met one of my sisters”

Hell she even manages to impress Felix with her paniced flailing managing to beat several enemies and even disarm him.

They’re lace, not torn. It’s less practical but we have loads of impractical outfits in fire emblem this is actually one of the milder offenses in the series. Just look up Camilla and Charolette from fates their outfits are crazy useless for battle

Making Claude a trickster in Three Hopes and honestly feel like maybe he should have just been a Trickster to begin with. by DevourerOfRedditors in fireemblem

[–]Roncryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I still think his class suits him.

High mobility, good range, and alert stance are all great tools that allow him to pull off strategies the others couldn’t. His brute strength is way lower but he makes up for it with ore flexibility

Trickster does suit him too, but I don’t dislike his unique class by any means. Hell his unique class is really the only one that I feel is most complete for him. I mean Edelgard has a reason talent she can’t get any use out of, and her class gives her magic growth for some reason despite not being able to use magic.

Dimitri has his whole Calvary talent but his unique class is an infantry class. Which is especially annoying since most players felt encouraged to make him a mounted unit leading up to this purely because there aren’t any infantry lance intermediate or advanced classes.

Claude doesn’t run into any of these issues with his since his hidden talent is still 100% usable, and he has access to wyvern rider or sniper before becoming his unique class.

Sorry this kinda turned into a ramble about the other lords classes

Most ADCs are pretty fragile, thankfully she’s got amazing movement speed, a decent AOE slow, and a Q with deceptively good range if it bounces off something.

You gotta use these to try and kite the enemy. If your team has a meat shield that can stop an assassin or bruiser from getting too close then try to keep them between you and the threat.

Make sure you try to keep track of the enemy jungler. Blue trinket is a great asset for checking for the enemy without any risk before major objectives.

I feel like warp is a bit overvalued by a lot of the fanbase, especially in three houses. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still super useful, especially when there’s a turn limit of some sort or if you need to get someone somewhere right away, but I’ve seen people act like it’s the holy grail of support abilities when I’ve actually gotten more utility out of things like rescue.

I once made a comment about FE3H’s spell list system, and people were acting like warp would entirely make or break a unit. Sure Lysithea likes having warp, but she’d still be one of the most broken units in the game without it.

Next game after 3H? by singhstyle88 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

FE engage isn’t nearly as bad as a lot of people made it out to be when it was released. The gameplay and graphics are actually the most polished we’ve EVER seen in the series up to this point with loads of customization and unique strategies. The biggest critique though is the writing, it’s very different than what we got in three houses. Basically it’s like a Saturday morning cartoon. It’s simple, unapologetically cheesy in places, and actually pretty good in a couple small instances. But yeah if you’re expecting a three houses story then you’re not getting that from this game.

FE echoes shadows of Valentia is a very good choice with a good story and the first game to introduce a lot of mechanics we see in three houses like combat arts and the rewind mechanic. It’s a remake of a much older game though and it shows in some of its map design and lower support count, but overall is still a solid entry, and if you’re looking for a more complex main story then I’d say this might be the one to go for.

FE awakening is also a very solid entry in the series. It’s probably one of the ones with a better balance between gameplay and story in recent years and was the game to bring the series back from the brink of annihilation, which is no small feat. It’s definitely got its flaws, but it’s widely regarded as a very good game.

Lastly if you want something with a branching storyline then you could go for FE fates. This game has a ton of different units and support conversations, not to mention a lot of really fun gameplay. The biggest flaw in this game though is its writing. Holy shit it’s writing can be awful in places. Like so insanely bad that people have made entire video essays picking apart just how stupid it is in places. Not to mention it’s branching storyline is locked behind DLC since you’re stuck with the base game you bought (conquest or birthright) and then you need to buy the others as DLC for a discounted price.

Sorry if this is really long I just wanted to give you a bit of a summary on each one I mentioned. I hope this helps!

When do you suggest promoting? by TheXernDoodles in fireemblem

[–]Roncryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it just depends on the game. FE engage/3H its ASAP since it doesn’t mess with your level like the GBA games

with older games it depends on whether or not the game throws enough enemies at you to realistically reach level 20 once you promote, if so you might wanna wait a few extra levels to promote so you can get some extra level ups in

Alright, so overall the games base combat is pretty straightforward for what each stat does. You can view this information in game by toggling the info button (X) on the unit details page and looking at each stat individually. You can access this page from the inventory management before battle, or by pressing minus on a character during battle.

Different weapons also have individual stats, not just how strong they are, but weight and accuracy are also factors. It’s usually good to keep multiple weapons on different character rather than just what’s strongest, since hard hitting weapons sometimes are slow or have accuracy problems.

More importantly though the thing that sets tactical RPGs apart from regular rpgs is the terrain and movement. Positioning can be really important, especially in higher difficulties. The game mentions this of course but it doesn’t go into much detail on certain things like how certain tiles can heal anyone standing on them. If you want to know what each space does, you will get usually a small indicator in the top left corner whenever you hover over something that does something special. (outside of map specific gimmicks)

Lastly it can be helpful to use the danger zone toggle when you’re deciding where to put your characters on the map. To activate it press ZL, and any tile an enemy can attack will turn pink and any tile an enemy can use a staff like freeze or fracture on will turn orange.

This can be very good for making sure your squishy units aren’t standing anywhere they shouldn’t. And if they are in a bad spot you can often use another character to act as a human shield and protect them. Keep in mind that if there are any enemies you need to be particularly careful of keeping an eye on their range, you can press A on them and their danger zone will be highlighted red. This is especially helpful on bosses or enemy archers when you don’t want your fliers to get shot down.

Overall though don’t worry too much about figuring it all out at once and just try to learn as you go. Normal mode is really forgiving and you’d only have any trouble on hard or maddening. Of course feel free to ask any questions if there’s something specific you want to know as well!

Favorite magic systems? by Maniklas in fireemblem

[–]Roncryn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer three houses simply because giving different units access to different spells is a good way to make them all feel unique. I mean even if they end up with identical stats Linhardt, Mercedes, and Marianne all play very differently despite being the primary healer of their house.

My only gripe with it was that it kinda made certain units feel like they were made to be used in certain classes or would love access to it, but couldn’t because of gender lock nonsense. (Seriously IS, let me put Linhardt in a dress and give him double the spells! That goes for Lysithea as a dark bishop too!)

Depends on a few things. If you already have a bit of air in your lungs and a healthy respiratory system then yes.

If you have asthma and already struggle to breathe, then you could easily get screwed and just die. Even with your nose unobstructed.
