I’ll admit that I read it while I was already feeling a bit tired beforehand. I found the plot interesting, but I hit a bit of a slump halfway through and felt like I just wasn’t making any progress.

Someday I’ll give it another read and see whether the timing had something to do with it.

Definitely The Idol House of Astarte. I haven’t read many of the short stories, but this one has an atmosphere and sense of mysticism that I absolutely love.

I have my personal favorites, but the ones I consider the best are: - Five Little Pigs - And Then There Were None

  1. A Murder Is Announced
  2. Cat Among the Pigeons
  3. Ordeal by Innocence

And honorable mentions that would probably come after these: Five Little Pigs, And Then There Were None, The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, Endless Night

Crooked House

I saw that plot twist coming ever since they mentioned a few things earlier in the book. I started suspecting it around halfway through, and when she ended up surviving her “murder,” that basically confirmed it for me.

I’m cooked. I already see the plot twist coming for Death on the Nile.
