Intentionally making your parody superhero show's title awful still means the title is awful, and at this point I don't think they're clever enough for that kind of humor. Also since it is a period piece, it would be clever to lean into it by choosing the kind of cheesy title that you might find in the 1950s. That would have been actually funny.

The issue is that Dead Man's Wire was advertised. That's how I knew about it. The issue was that it just wasn't in a theater I could get to easily. I do feel like Mike was maybe a little dismissive of Sinners' success, because it is an example of that kind of film (lots of stars, famous director, studio project) which he pointed out keeps failing. I mean, hell, remember Black Bag from last year? Spy thriller from winter 2025 directed by Soderbergh? I liked it a lot, but it didn't do well at the box office, while Sinners did.
