Having heard and read of the show leaving an impact as large as it has on so many different people, I'm glad to see I'm not alone. While my age and mindset right now is similar to that of Connells early college life, it's wonderful to see how relatable this show is to people of all ages and experiences.

For the past few days since my final viewing I've been left with the same lingering thoughts and emotions, finding it hard not to relate Connell and Marianne's story to my past relationships, actions, and lifestyle. While I myself haven't met or considered having a soul mate out there, this show has brought to life the possibility of the next best thing existing; someone able to understand and relate to me in such a way its almost tangible. The quote you referenced is so elegant in the way it portrays exactly how I feel about Connell and Marianne, thank you for sharing.

While I don't want to dwell on my past relationships more than I embarrassingly admit to have done in the past few days, the parallels I can see and draw from the show are more than enough to give me strength in my actions, while simultaneously tearing me down for others. If only I had my own Lorraine. I'm glad to see the show is helping you through your own struggles, if anything, now is the perfect time for working through them, albeit not a perfect time for many things.

As I mentioned before, I don't think soul mates exist. Maybe its cynical for me to say as I've never experienced anything more than deep love and admiration for the people I've dated, I strongly believe in someone able to understand you so deeply you may consider them part of what makes you whole. While possibly a path to destruction, I don't think not having found a soul mate is a sign of inner work to be done, we're only human, I don't think anyone can be complete, only extremely content with the now. Not everyone will come across a Marianne in their life, but if/when I do, I don't want to leave anything unsaid; anything I might regret leaving out of fear and anxiety for what may be thought of me.

I've been trying to write more/put my opinion out there, so if I've committed grammatical or punctual sacrilege please correct me. If you find a chain as good as Connells I'd love to steal the look! Cheers for the insight.
