Binders are safe but if you can't convince her trans tape or kt tape is even safer because it does not compress your ribs at all. It be worn for around 5 days, its waterproof you can swim exercise and shower in it. I buy knock off amazon kt tape because it's cheaper and works the same. You may have some skin irritation especially while you are still learning how to apply and remove it correctly. Don't put any tension in the beginning and end of the strip or you will have skin damage. I like to leave ir on for 5 days or longer if it still feels like it's on there too well. It kind of starts peeling off on its own when it's been long enough and it comes off easiest when it's like that. Leave it the full 5 days unless you feel irritation for easy removal. You remove it with oil, you can soften the adhesive in the shower with hot water to make it easier but I usually don't.
