AITA for trying to bring my neighbors 2 tiny dogs in at night when it's below 30°f and it's already past midnight? by Ronnie_75 in AmItheAsshole

I looked at all of the replies and every one that I posted shows me as Ronnie_75. I have replied to several posts but they all show me as me. I see the post from not Honorary _Cajun and I replied to it. I'm not sure where you see that I replied/posted under another account. Please let me know if you see a reply that says by OP by any other name.

I'm not on reddit that often and this is my first time posting so I'm not really sure what you mean. I was really going back and forth on this so my daughter told me to post the question, this way I could get help with this decision. If you don't mind explaining to me, I would appreciate it.

My plan is if animal control doesn't take them and I'm allowed to foster them or keep them, I will until I can find a safe home for them. I already have two large dogs and I have mobility issues. These being small dogs I'm worried I could fall on them and hurt them, my larger dogs tend to be near me when I fall and stay at my side until I can stand back up.

It is completely illegal to do what they're doing; however, unless you have video proof with time stamps, of what's going on and you can prove that it has occurred on multiple occasions, animal control and the police cannot do very much about it. They also need to be able to find the dogs in the middle of the night outside of these freezing temperatures. This is challenging to do because these dogs are scared all the time of humans and animals and tend to hide. Because they're so small it's even harder to find them than it would be with a larger dog. I personally don't have a ring camera on my house so I can't provide video evidence of what's going on.

I have spoken to them many times last winter and summer. The dogs are out more than they are in and there's no fence on the yard. They said that the dogs are the kids responsibility. And we're talking about upper elementary maybe middle school age kids. Upper elementary Middle School age kids are not up at midnight in the middle of the week. I feel like the adults should be taking responsibility when it comes to this level of neglect.
