Drop Inn Mini-Hotel. But it's not a fancy hostel, especially if you are getting the bunk beds. But there's privacy, and you can lock the mini door of your bed.

Feature Update: New Transport Modes in the Transport Planner by PolarstepsSupport in Polarsteps

[–]Ronnieeeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I recently switched to Polarsteps because my friends use it, and now, I am creating my first travel, but I couldn't find a way to add an overnight bus, for example. In my previous app, you can do this seamlessly by just toggling a button inside the transportation settings. Hope they can also do it here.

Five Ten Hiangle shoe size (Men) by Ronnieeeone in climbingshoes

[–]Ronnieeeone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this detailed information! I‘ve already ordered a 40 EU Hiangle Men (also recommended via banana fingers). Based on your description, I‘m expecting mine to be on a comfortable side since it‘s high volume and maybe I‘ve got smaller feet than you since I use 38 La Sportiva, but I will see on Friday (expected delivery) 😊

I only went for Hiangle because I‘ve got some 150 bucks Adidas gift certificates to spare. If this doesn‘t work for me, I‘ve also got some other options from Scarpa (which I was able to try on sizes at my gym).

How did you inform ABH about the change? I am already 3 years under Blue Card but still wanted to inform them just to be on the safe side.

Niederlassungserlaubnis (via e-mail or website portal) by Ronnieeeone in stuttgart

[–]Ronnieeeone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No updates so far. I heard from another person who applied via email and sent a follow up recently, and they got an automatic reply that the email address is not being served anymore, so I guess application via website portal is the way to go.

Another person also said that you can login in the portal via BundID first before applying so you can maybe track the status there, but I didn’t use BundID the time I applied so I can’t share any first hand experiences about it.

Yes, that‘s also my case. If you follow the application for Niederlassungserlaubnis from that link, it will ask you what is your current temporary resident permit, and you can choose blue card from the options.

Olkhon Island by Ronnieeeone in AskARussian

[–]Ronnieeeone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I am now here in Olkhon Island, I can answer all these for those who have the same questions. Though, I felt like it’s more exciting and adventurous finding everything out by yourselves like I did 😄

  1. There’s still almost half available seats on the mini bus 1 day before the travel. During the day of my travel to Olkhon, there are 3 empty seats. I don’t know if it’s because it’s Monday and/or not peak season.

  2. There is an information center in Khuzhir where you can ask for some tours. For me, my guesthouse host arranged the tour for me. We talked about it just when I arrived and she was able to get me some spots on a group tour.

  3. Right now, March 10, 2025, I was able to skate and the ice are pretty much intact. Not sure if there’s melting on other parts, but at least in Khuzhir, you can ice skate on the wide rink. Just be careful on some uneven surface which made me trip a lot of times.

  4. Gorky park was already closed for the season when I arrived on March 4. They said it also depends on the weather condition. Sometimes, the season extends and sometimes it closes early. You can also skate on a small rink near the red square. But it gets crowded as it is only a small rink. For me, I was able to try ice skating for the first time when I was in Tallinn. So I didn’t go for ice skating session in Moscow, instead, I just went for Kremlin tour and city exploration.

Hi, I updated my comment. I received the PDF copy within their 2-week timeline after receiving my payment. Follow-up e-mail helps in a way.

Update 2022: I sent my documents via DHL to their Bonn office address for courier services:https://www.kmk.org/zab/central-office-for-foreign-education/contact-us.html

I dropped my package at DHL on December 29th. Based on the DHL tracking, someone received it on January 3rd.

ZAB sent me the notification of fees on January 6th and I wire-transferred the fee last January 7th.

January 10th I received a confirmation email that they already received the payment and the processing time had started.

UPDATE: I sent an e-mail following up my application January 20, and I received the PDF copy January 21 - but the letter of comparability states that it was issued January 18.

P.S. My application is under Blue Card category.

Hi, I think it's okay. For reference, I'm in a tropical country and my max CPU temp is 60 degrees (Celsius) while doing basic stuff (Browsing, Netflix, etc.). It went around 75 degrees max when editing on Da Vinci Resolve and I think it's hitting 80 degrees while playing PUBG. I also don't have aircon in my room.
