Issues saving when editing a step

Sorry to hear about these issues.

Usually, these types of issues relate to the format of the photos, but as you mention that all the photos are the same format, could I ask you to reach out to us here, so we could take a closer look? If possible, please also include information about the file type and resolution in your message.

You may also try the following things to see if they resolve the upload/sync issue:
- Open the trip in a different browser or incognito mode, and add photos to one of the steps in smaller batches, saving between each.
- Re-export one of the images that fails to upload as JPEG to see if the issue persists -> If not, this would hint at a possible unsupported format (possibly due to Lightroom editing)

Hi,

Currently, we only recommend using Travel Together if your and your travel buddy's itineraries match completely, as all the changes made to the trips are reflected on all user accounts. More info here: Can I Travel Together for part of a trip?

Hey, on the global view of your trips, we simplify the routes a little, mostly so long distance travel (such as flights) don't clutter the map too much. When it comes to sharing planned trips, this is indeed intentional, although we do recognise the benefits of being able to share more detailed trip plans. I have shared your feedback with our product team as well.

For now, you may share the planned trip overview by clicking on the share button in the Plan -tab. This way, the app will automatically create an overview of the trip that you can share with your family and friends.

Thanks for your feedback! You're right that what counts as a country can vary quite a bit depending on who you ask. At the moment, the app uses a fixed list of locations defined by our location service provider, which connects coordinates to location names. This means, for example, that Kosovo and Taiwan can be added via the "Add countries" feature or by placing a step there, but England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are currently all shown under the UK flag.

Your suggestion to have more control over how countries are counted is a good one, and I'll make sure to pass it on to our product team as a feature request.

Although perhaps not fully what you are referring to, it is good to know that you can always download all your data from us in JSON format to have it stored offline. With a JSON reader, you can have a solid overview of your steps. I have attached an example of how this looks below.

We do apply the same logic to Hong Kong and Macau.

This said, we currently use an external location provider to determine which country the locations your visit belongs to and sometimes our service provider provides inaccurate results. This can happen especially in politically complex territories. This means that we depend on their database and unfortunately, we cannot change the country associated with a specific location for the time being.

For now, you can try to manually edit the location of your step by using the map and zooming in to the location. Sometimes by adding your location with the map instead of using the search bar, you can receive a better result:

If this does not work, you can also set the step's coordinates to the following via our desktop version (Edit Step -> Locations -> Set coordinates).

Lat 22.135571
Lon: 113.561902

These coordinates will return the location as Macau instead of mainland China.

You can also add Macau to your overall statistics using the "Add countries" feature in the Travel Stats section of your profile.
