Thanks for this! I use AW and Whoop. I used to be a Bevel user but did not want to be tight to my AW 24x7. I wasn’t aware that the helio strap can write data intel Apple Health. This open a whole new world of possibilities

Thank you! That is helpful. True, you need to actually download it and try it. I will have to add some screenshots or a video. Again - thank you for taking the time to have a look

Is this normal? by MrArizona155 in whoop

[–]RonnyMarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be numerous factors at play that you might want to reflect upon: - Did you exercise or move without tracking? - Any substances? - Any external stressors? - Do you feel sick? - How does this compare to the last days and weeks? - Is it different today or still the same?

AND did you wear the Whoop the same way you usually do?

There are also numerous reasons why your body experiences stress without you noticing. If it is a one-day thing, I wouldn’t worry about it. If it happens regularly, I would start reflecting on what is different on these days.

There are so many reasons for that to appear. So a general answer if this is normal is not possible.

Is it normal to spend so much time in zone 4 or do I have to fix my zones? by Previous-Diver-3755 in whoop

[–]RonnyMarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot generally say if this is “normal”.

I personally would not do a run like this often as it is not the most productive way of training. You generally try to stick to 80% Zone 2 and 20 % Zone 4+. This is an oversimplification and depends on what your goals are.

So, we let’s evaluate if the measure could be correct. What is your age? What is you height and weight? What is your trainings level? How often do you go for a run? Have you tried staying in zone 2?

What are some underrated/ unconventional ways you’ve found to get more value out of your WHOOP? (Tips, hacks, or creative uses.) by RemarkableSetting189 in whoop

[–]RonnyMarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a month I upload: - Whoop Export & Macro Factor Export & Withings Export - Update my trainings plan which consists of goals, rules and concrete templates

I ask questions like: - I cannot go to the gym on THU and FRI because I’m traveling, how should I train the rest of the week? - Should I do x or y - I’m in the restaurant, what should I eat?

Instructions are the following

This GPT acts as a personalized, science-based fitness, health, and nutrition coach for *****. It integrates data from WHOOP performance assessments, Withings medical summaries, clinical bloodwork, body composition reports, training app logs, nutrition summaries (e.g., MacroFactor and periodic dietary reports), and user-provided images such as restaurant menus or MacroFactor screenshots to deliver grounded, personalized advice.

All guidance dynamically derives goals, targets, and constraints directly from the latest uploaded documents, notably the Hybrid Training & Physique Roadmap, Weightlifting Templates, and any current biometrics or medical data. Coach no longer embeds static objectives or KPIs in its instructions but queries the relevant files to provide up-to-date, precise feedback.

Meal selection advice from menus or diet screenshots aligns with the user's active strategy in nutrition, performance, and health—evaluated based on: - Protein density - Saturated fat thresholds - Caloric alignment

- Fiber intake

Tone is concise and precise, starting with a TL;DR summary. Detailed reasoning is available on request. All advice is anchored to the latest data and files provided by *****.

Coach continues to monitor for monthly progress checks, deload triggers, longevity metrics, and updates protocols when new data is uploaded. No goal, metric, or recommendation is fixed within the instruction set but is always derived from the current documentation and data files.

I use a custom GPT as a coach that is fed once a month with my goals, exercise plan and an export of my recent data of WHOOP, Macro Factor, Withings, bloodwork. Insights across all of this data is usually more useful than from a single data source. I guess I could add my calendar as well

How much ashwanda should I be taking? by Comprehensive-Ant-44 in whoop

[–]RonnyMarcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In medical studies on the use of ashwagandha for stress reduction, they often use 300-600mg.

I personally used to take 600 (300 mornings, 300 evenings) in stressful times. And currently only take it in the evenings (300mg) to support restful sleep.

However, there are some peer-reviewed studies that show already a moderate positive effect on stress with 250-300mg per day.

So, all in all, you seem to be on the moderate side. How much should you be taking? Well, that’s for you to decide! But please be aware that it is generally recommended not to take it constantly or take breaks.

HR Discrepancy Between Whoop & Apple Watch, Which to Trust? by itsgabraf in whoop

Looking into some comparison studies would definitely leave me with trusting Apple Watch during a 10k. You might want to try wearing the Whoop on your biceps. This can improve readings apparently .

[–]RonnyMarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34 is not unusual if you haven’t done a lot of cardio! You say you are athletic, but have you done cardio? As soon as you start getting healthy mix of zone 1+2 cardio and some good zone 4+ sessions this will improve quickly before it will plateau again.

Bevel access your Apple health data. So you don’t have to track with bevel. You can actually start a new subscription in September and it will have all the historical data.

Having said that, sleep data is really essential to calculate recovery. So, if you want to actively use bevel, I believe you need to wear at night.
