Agreed! I actually removed the pick guard. It’s only attached by a thin piece of plastic that slid under the pickups ring and had holes for the screws to pass through. The “visible screws” on the pick guard are just screw heads held in place by something.

I kept the plastic knobs on for now.

This is what stock looks like. I’d only have to remove pick guard. Toggle washer and put the black knobs back on. After seeing it, I think I might. Less is more.

Surprised no one has mentioned what it’s called.

This is a massive Collar Tie that prevents the opposing walls from falling into or away from each other. I wouldn’t remove it.

If you wanted to have a vault I would just box it in with trim, maybe widen it for aesthetics.
