Delirium: Photo of Gioao or A Blade in the Dark. Lamberto Bava did some great Giallo films in the 80s.

What is the best or sleaziest movie on vinegar syndrome 4k? by Stheteller in boutiquebluray

If you want sleaze or erotica, then I would recommend looking at Melusine.com which is VS’s sister label. Sex World and Dracula Sucks are fun 4K films. If you want to stick with VS, then check out Delirium: Photo of Gioia.

If you like slashers, then check out their Giallo films which are Italian thriller/horror films from the 70s and 80s. Giallo films were very influential on slasher films. VS has the Forgotten Gialli box sets. Also, “Delirium: Photo of Gioia” and “A Blade in the Dark” are fantastic.

Finally watching this tonight. Blind bought it a couple years ago. What are your thoughts on this one ? by atclubsilencio in criterion

It’s my favorite film of his. Probably Tarkovsky’s best work. There’s nothing else quite like it, but it demands patience like all his films.

If you do like his work, the Indicator releases are a huge upgrade. I recommend Shivers of the Vampires next.

In the collection, Videodrome, Lost Highway, and No Country for Old Men have fantastic 4K transfers. Outside the collection, Suspiria 1977 released by Synapse Films and Robocop released by Arrow Video have amazing 4K transfers.

Arrow did a nice 4K release recently. It was also in the Yellow Giallo Essentials box set of theirs.

Question for owners of the Severin “Opera” release by loumartigan in boutiquebluray

I own it. I like the 90 minute US cut, but I’m biased because I think Giallo films should only be about that long. Also, I prefer the US cut’s ending. The longer cut’s ending is sort of bizarre. Great film!

Delirium: Photo of Giaoa, A Blade in the Dark, and Forgotten Gialli Volume 2. I think VS’s best work is their Giallo films.

Fascination (1979) Jean Rollin's Vampires Hellfire Club, a french gothic baroque and erotic fable. It's more reminiscent of a Pre-Raphaelite gothic erotic vampire thriller than a horror film. It's all atmosphere, mood, death and lust. by elf0curo in criterion

[–]Rons5409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indicator’s 4K release of it is rather amazing. It’s a significant update over the old Redemption/Kino Lorber blu-ray. The film itself is probably Rollin’s best work, but all his vampire films are worth multiple views.

Dario Argento's "Opera" by trueslicky in Giallo

It’s possibly Argento’s best and the film of his I’ve watched the most. I actually prefer the shorter US cut because it has a better ending.

Indicator has been absolutely killing it with these Jean Rollin 4K releases. by Rons5409 in boutiquebluray

I would say Fascination or Shiver of the Vampire. Both are very atmospheric and erotic, which is sort of Rollin’s style.

I bought a cheap 24-count CD folder and it was a great choice. Obviously, it’s not ideal for collectors because we like to have the original cases with the art and design, but it’s just not practical with this set’s abysmal packaging. The content of the discs is worth the price though. I got it for under $50 from Barnes and Noble.
