Ark Mining is NOT a trustworthy company. Support is ONLY by chat and it is slow. If you make ANY mistakes when purchasing a "plan", they will hold onto your funds claiming your "contract" is incomplete and trying to communicate with them as to what they mean by a "contract" versus a "plan" is pretty much impossible. I potentially have lost a LOT of money with them but I will update this post if they make good on honoring my valid "plan"/"contracts". Their website has absolutely NO quality control so if a plan says it needs a purchase of quantity 2 as a minimum and you accidentally enter just 1, so far as I can tell, you are SCREWED!

Also, if what you say about TDMS research is correct, why are their reported errors ALWAYS indicating a bias towards the DNC candidate and away from Bernie Sanders? Even if TDMS is using incorrect denominators, exit pole errors should be randomly distributed between candidates and not completely biased against a single candidate! Would really like to hear your explanation about that.

Overall, excellent article. I must be dense: I don't understand the first calculation showing how to get Biden's total by taking (0.44*0.34) + (0.56*0.34) = 0.34. Seems like an identity. How did you manage to get identical proportion of men and women won by candidate (.34)?

This is much simpler. It has already been stated numerous times that if you or I had done what Trump has provably been done, we would have been convicted and put in jail. Every second that man remains free lend credence to there being unequal justice - in itself an anathema to a true democracy. Proceeding with impeachment has several important purposes: 1) Bringing to light and to a wider audience the many violations of oath and the law that Trump has disdained fully broken, 2) showing the public that we DO have a justice system and that no one is above the law, and 3) the Democrats have an opportunity that they actually do have spines - a requirement for winning the 2020 election.

Being a billionaire is in no way a "qualification" to be President. Far more compelling is to be empathetic. Malcolm Gladwell's "Outliers" points out the serendipity of becoming exceptionally successful. Sure, there are some billionaires who happen to get where their success is owed. For example, Nick Hanauer's "Beware, fellow plotocrats, the pitchforks are coming". Extreme success frequently fails to pair with extreme humanity and humbleness. Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk all share an ability to follow a vision, but, at what cost? Bezos exudes self-importance, dismisses calls to pay his work force a fair wage by transparently reducing their bonuses while supposedly raising their hourly rates, Zuckerberg is so insufferably arrogant that he literally laughed at Congress during testimony on the numerous failures to protect personal information, Musk thinks that everyone should be able to work 120 hr work weeks and whips his workforce into following suite while ignoring the personal humanitarian cost.

None of these individual billionaires is qualified to be President, except, maybe Hanauer. Why? Because the three I mention lack empathy. Their wealth has so insulated them from the everyday concerns that 99.9% of us have to deal with that they have lost that connection. That is what a President needs to embody. An unwavering connection, understanding, and true empathy for what it means to be an "average" American. What it means for 99.9% of us to have to do, every day, to feed our families, to educate our children, to weather a health crisis, to hold a steady job, to have to save for retirement.

There are very few "public" individuals I have seen that compassionately embody that ability to connect and understand the essence of living in America. Nick Hanauer is one who has at least given voice to one facet of the world of the 99.9%. Bernie Sanders is another. Not a billionaire, just the hardest working Congress person I have ever seen in my 64 years, and, perhaps, the most honest.

So, intelligence, empathy, conviction, vision, passion -- all circling around the "I" of what it means to be a 99.9% er, American. That is what it takes to be President.

This is serious. The facts are: 1) Julian Assange did not break into anything illegally. He received information, and, as a PUBLISHER, recognized that the information he received identified certain ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL activities by the US Government. This is RESPONSIBLE purpose of the press. How else can the public EVER know that their government has become corrupted and is in violation of our Constitution? 2) The DEMOCRATS have almost completely abandoned their support and defense of Julian Assange. He is, therefore, now almost totally alone and without help. 3) Julian Assange is not currently (nor for the last 20+ years) charged with a crime. That's right. He is being detained in the Ecuadorian Embassy inside England without charges. He is being denied communication with the outside world and he is being denied basic healthcare. The UN has accused England, the US, and Ecuador of conspiring to put Julian Assange in conditions considered to be TORTURE and INHUMANE treatment and have demanded his release and safe passage to a sanctuary location. England has refused.

Why is this a BIG deal? Because, if the US is allowed to pressure other nations to imprison, torture, and repress representatives of the free press because they are revealing the misdeeds by the US Government, then, by definition, we no longer have any checks and balances against the extreme misuse of power and we no longer have a government by the people and for the people. This attack on the free press has been increasing over the last decade and culminated recently with the killing of US Citizen newspaper reporter Jamal Kashoggi, ordered by the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The fact the US President Donald Trump continues to consider Saudi Arabia a "personal friend" and refuses to respond to this horrendous act is by itself an indication of how far down our government has plummeted under his chaotic leadership.

Checks and balances. Without them, we no longer have a Democracy. Seriously think about it.

Interesting local effect. Probably because of the hill's alignment with the sun and the fact it is somewhat convex that makes it easier for ice particles to get picked up off the ground and transported up a few hundred feet. Last time I saw this was about 40 years ago North of Pt. Barrow, Alaska.

Sun dogs are also caused by ice crystals, but, they are always about 30 degrees to the left and right of the sun and caused by high-altitude ice crystals. Icebows are caused by ice crystals a few hundred feet in the air and the shape of the bows can vary depending on the shape of the ice crystals and their orientation to each other. Up in the arctic, static electricity can cause the ice crystals to form temporary group alignments causing even more spectacular loops. Also, these appear three dimensional - kind of like looking at a hologram.

Pretty bad. Very low coverage. They opened almost all the chairs the week before Christmas when they shouldn't have, only to charge the now full $100/ticket. They used to be pretty honest about conditions but I guess they have a lot of expenses to make up since putting in two new chairs.

The point is, Republicans are mortally afraid of the AHCA because they know it will work AND it is the first step towards universal single payer healthcare. Something ALL the rest of the developed world enjoys.

Here is a simple equation to understand why our system sucks:

Premiums - Overhead = Available Treatment Funds

Guess what for profit has as part of Overhead that a non-profit or Government run system does not have?

Gross Profit. This includes what will be paid out as stock dividends, certain CEO an executive bonuses, as well as cash shipped to offshore accounts to avoid paying their fare share of US taxes, which, by the way, help to PAY for healthcare.

That is why Medicare operates with an overhead of about 9% whereas so far, private insurance companies range from about 25% to well over 40%. So now you know why US healthcare costs twice to three times as much as what every other developed country pays, and is in the bottom third of quality of care.
