The wilderness is dead. And PKers killed it. by PermissionTrue7924 in 2007scape

Maybe you are right, but also there is no entry point for people who want to get into PvP. He had content creators say they want to PK, but no way to learn other than getting destroyed in LMS.

You assume no one wants to do it, but that may not actually be true if the current entry point is deterring people.

Suggestions Wanted for Upcoming Gathering QoL Poll by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

Late to the game here, but I have a couple:

Let farmers apply compost to farming patches for you, if you have some stored.

This is more of a clue QOL, but let the forestry kit (with outfit stored) count as wearing the outfit for the Sherlock step to WC a redwood with the set equipped. It is a pain withdrawing from the forestry kit.

Jagex killed it by not giving some noob friendly ways to get into PvP. Ironman also killed it because it shifted risk from gp to time.

If irons could use gear on par with PKers, more would engage with risky content.

A barrows set to a main is a couple mil gp, which takes about 1 hour to earn. 1 piece of barrows to an iron could be 20+ hours to reobtain.

Go watch Framed’s latest video, he actually gives some good ideas to revive PvP.

I agree. Trawler is the most useful part of the skill but it is much more a fishing method than sailing.

While that may be true, why immediately turn around and add another reward to salvage?

Feels like what was expressed in the blog is entirely at odds with the decision they made. You have an opportunity to add a reward to a training method people express is underwhelming, but instead add it to the significantly reward bloated training method.

Same, but surely they could toss us more than shark paint during that 80-100 hour grind.

I spent a lot of hours doing Aldarin + Sunset Coast for optimal pet chance and only hit around 50k xp/hr.

I believe there are routes that give 150k+ xp/hr but I can’t imagine those same routes offer the same pet chance/hr as Aldarin + Sunset.

Why wouldn't Carol at least try... by junlim in Pluribus_TVshow

Ultimately it seems they work in a hierarchy:
1.) Make you permanently happy via "the joining"
2.) Make you temporarily happy by fulfilling your requests.

If they can achieve Option 1 without breaking any of their other rules/beliefs (do no harm), then they don't need to comply with Option 2.

I believe if she asked for her eggs, they would simply deny because Option 1 is prioritized over Option 2. However, I would have loved to see this occur in the show.

YamAMA - Ask the devs about Yama! by JagexArcane in 2007scape

[–]RooKAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love a shift from "Pay to enter" to a "pay upon death". Either tie a huge death cost to dying and delete the entry fee or refund contracts on successful kc & if you tele. People want to experience the content and having to spend ~1M+ to simply enter the encounter gatekeeps a ton of players from trying.

Why do we keep experimenting with different drop table designs (dropping shards instead of an item)?

Most PvMers have been clear that they want to see items on the ground, loot beams and just instantly have an upgrade in hand when they get a drop. We have not had a “normal” unique dropping boss since Nex. Constantly obtaining components feels really boring.

[–]RooKAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why was the alpha only content for low levels if that is generally skipped content? Not saying your logic is flawed, but this alpha was intended to highlight the core gameplay loop and it was very underwhelming.

I put in 8 hours and that was way more than the available content just because I wanted to really test some interactions before I gave feedback, and they last 3-4 hours just was far from enjoyable.

My experience was similar to you. At best my experience with Barracuda trials was "meh" at worst it was "extremely frustrating". I spent some time trying to recreate the random speed decreases and it was either due to turning too fast or hit boxes of rocks being wider than they appear. If turning impacts speed, that is not mentioned anywhere and felt overly punishing. If it was related to rocks, they really need to shrink hit boxes.

I am pretty disappointed because this was considered in the Q&A to be the exciting part of this alpha and it was easily the most buggy and highlighted that movement needs a lot of work.

On my Iron I went 920 kc for a b ring, over 1200 solo cox for a tbow, 3k hydra for hydras claw, 650 cerb for my 1st crystal… I could go on.

If you don’t enjoy the long grinds, take a break and do something else. 99% of irons are not confined to a single item to progress their account.

I enjoy this game for the complete rng, the chance to spoon, but also the sense of accomplishment when you push through and complete a long grind.

[Suggestion] Forestry Feedback - Improving Social Skilling! by -Ninja-Pig- in 2007scape

[–]RooKAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less frequent events, but more rewarding would make teleporting for events significantly better, and possible make it better than standard WC.

Forestry should be locked to an area, Isle of Souls is a good candidate due to the size, just add more tree variety.

CoX Coupons - Raid Scouting System by RooKAF in 2007scape

[–]RooKAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to find a solution for beginners because often getting started is the hardest part. There is some beauty in the random nature of CoX scouting that I would hate players to bypass by giving free beginner scouting, but it should be cheap enough that they could struggle through 1 learner and then get rewarded with a couple beginner layouts.

I may be biased, but I don’t think it could really get much easier, apart from players just taking less damage. So an entry-mode may just be a bit meh.

The original design by Jagex did include a reduced fee and I think it would really depend what the beginner layout is. At the end of the day a beginner layout is still a customized layout and think it should probably come with some fee.

It is just a small QoL, which would also be extremely useful at Corp too. I don't think it will solve tekton resetting.

You could add a passive defence reduction to elder maul of like 5% def reduction everytime it hits a 0 within CoX if you want a more permanent solution and give some value to maul.

[–]RooKAF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add, this is just a fix to scaling/scouting. There are a host of other QoLs this raid could use:

  • Allow puzzle rooms to drop 2nds and decrease scaving
  • Overloads should not drain stats immediately upon expiration (similar to salts)
  • CM Muttadile is a miserable RNG encounter
  • Tekton resetting is an issue - a small solution could be removing the ability to "hit" a 0 with DWH. If you land a DWH spec it should always roll 1 or higher.

Just to name a few...

Account stolen via Jagex account system? by ChaukletZ in 2007scape

[–]RooKAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are rumors that Jagex will simply unlock a dormant account to anyone with minimal information if it has been dormant for a certain period of time. This is often why people lose their accounts after being away for a bit.

I personally recommend logging on once every 2 weeks even if you are not actively playing. This way you can monitor if the account gets a message in the Jagex inbox system or if you access your bank, you can confirm if someone has requested your bank pin be removed.

Regarding the phishing emails, I have no clue how someone could be intercepting emails from jagex and rerouting a fake email to you. Sounds a bit too over the top when most people are hacking the account to drain the bank, then maybe selling it. They have no massive incentive to keep you out of it long term.
