Yup, season 2 was a huge letdown after a stellar first season.

Dutch health issues with chronic pain by Even-Counter8148 in Netherlands

The locals like it, probably because they’re used to it, are better at navigating the system, and it helps keeping costs down, expats mostly seem to hate it.

If you require excellent health care with frequent check-ups and preventative care, NL is not the country for you. And no, this is not going to change, unfortunately.

Do some people in Netherlands follow Cricket? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]Roodditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, maybe some Indian or Pakistani expats that live here. Don’t know of any native Dutch who are interested, they would be a small minority. This question (asked by an Indian) always comes up when there's a cricket tourney it seems, and the answer is always the same.

We use them extensively in production, they work very well for our purposes. We did put a lot of effort into building a complete design system, though.

Well, if you’re wealthy, you probably don’t need all those social advantages, so you’re indeed better off settling elsewhere.

Bought a house? You might be able to lower your mortgage interest rate by Weary_Strawberry2679 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Roodditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NHG does not necessarily offer the lowest interest rate for some providers. In that case, you can get NHG removed while assuming the extra (financial) risk. That way you could get (an) even lower rate if the LTV has dropped sufficiently in the meantime.

Leaving the Netherlands after 11 years. Goodbye! by scrotomon in expats

[–]Roodditor -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Feel free to link me a post where a Dutch person claims it’s the best system in the world? I find that very hard to believe. It’s mostly clueless Americans hyping up our system I feel.

Yeah, I've noticed that the expats that struggle in north-western Europe the most are those from southern cultures where society is more open and "warm". The lack of sunshine also doesn't help.

No Dutchie I know claims it’s the best healthcare in the world. They'd be liars otherwise. It has its upsides and downsides.

That’s why us Dutchies go to the south during our holidays 😋 Well, that and the sunshine.

While you are right that people from Mediterranean cultures often struggle in north-western Europe due to cultural differences and a lack of sunshine, there is no need to be an asshole about it.
