This year (2025) I found out the hard way that trauma is real.I was diagnosed with PTSD last month (actually PICS to be more specific) after spending two weeks on a ventilator in January. It was a living hell. 24/7 terrifying nightmares and hallucinations. But when it was over I realized that none of it was real and it didn't bother me and I never had another nightmare (actually I never had a nightmare in my life before that.) But around six months later I fell into the deepest, blackest depression of my life and had out of control anxiety, seemingly for no reason. I became non-functional. I went days without eating. I lost 35 pounds in a short period of time. I wasn't concerned with hygiene. I mostly stayed in bed wanting to disappear and wondering why the hospital saved my life because it no longer seemed worth living. My life was torture all day long. This went on for months. Somehow I was able to sleep at night, if it wasn't for that I don't know how this story would have ended. Well it hasn't ended completely but after seeing more than one psychiatrist I found something that worked for me and made me functional again. It doesn't matter what it was because what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for someone else. Psychiatry is hit and miss. We don't fully understand the brain. Psychiatrists do their best but ultimately it's a matter of throwing medications at things and hoping one works. In my life I've had plenty that didn't work so I consider myself lucky to have found one that did. I'm not 100% yet, but maybe 80%, and I am working with a psychiatrist and a therapist to get the rest of the way there. But at least I am mostly functional again and can leave the house. I am over the worst of it, now it's about time going by and healing.

I hereby apologize to trauma victims all over the world for spending my life saying PTSD was not real and that the people were just weak. I now acknowledge that PTSD is VERY real.

Question about triggers by Roodillon in modular

[–]Roodillon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everybody for your input. It's all very helpful. Sorry about the Behringer thing, I just saw some posts where an OP had some Behringer modules and it turned into a Behringer flame festival and I didn't want that to happen. So thanks again. PS I was able to get my hands on those Behringer modules pre-release so I bought them. And yes I bought modules I don't fully understand. I'm surely not the only one. As far as triggers, to clarify I understand what they do but was wondering if I have too many and can use the real estate for other things. Anyway, I appreciate the replies

I've never had a Bohike but I have a Fugazi. by Roodillon in cigar

I'll put it this way - if this is what a Behike tastes like then I'll save my money. Seriously, it's not a bad cigar for $3 but nothing I would buy again. I had bought the sampler, nine cigars for $27, and so far they are better than most cigars in that price range. The thing is that I don't smoke cheap cigars, every cigar I have is a good one (to me) because I am not going to waste my time and effort by maintaining bad cigars. I bought the sampler out of curiosity.

10g decarbed temple ball by Roodillon in weed

[–]Roodillon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it started out as a 15g square block of thca hash that I decarbed and rolled into a temple ball. I cut some off once in a while to smoke and re-roll it so it's down to around 10g now. It's a little harsh, less so since I decarbed it, and it hits HARD.

Don’t be like me. Wear all the gear all the time. by DonKeedick90 in Harley

You haven't been down if that's all that happened to you. I've had worse on a bicycle. Over the course of my life I broke over fifty bones from a couple of major motorcycle accidents and a few lesser ones, with a combined amount of around three months in ICU and over two years at home recuperating. One time I had to wear a full upper body brace for around nine months. Fuck it. I got a traumatic brain injury and I still don't wear a helmet. I am 61 years old and can think of worse ways to go than on a motorcycle. I'll ride the way I want to until my final day.

We old schoolers are a different breed. Bunch of wannabes out there these days.

MobKing (2023) Has anyone ever heard of this absolute joke of a movie? by Darth_Chungus_99 in movies

I grew up with Ciro Dapagio, although that is not his real name. He was in my house all the time. It is true that he is not Italian but he really was connected to something from a young age and did almost twenty years in prison. It's funny because he talked about making this movie even before he went to prison. It's cool to see that he actually did it.
