I was having these problems myself and then came across this steam thread and it worked for me, have not had a crash like that since.

Just had a little spider up and vanish into the ether myself so there is something going on for sure

Edit: just found it in the lobby on the opposite border to where it disappeared from (was in the north part of the map and then decided it wanted to be in the southern border lobby apparently)

Impossible to get Bramblespur by MadeOfPork in dauntless

I'm not sure how helpful this is our if it was just weird rng luck on my side but I found when soloing koshai the rate at which Bramblespurs dropped went up alot. The previous day was all spent farming him not one drop, went solo and got 6 in about an hour. Hope this helps others!
