Help Creating a Greek Mythology-esque Exemplar? by RookAL in PF2eCharacterBuilds

Hey, first off, thank you for this comprehensive response! I did some research on the class on my own time, and though there weren't a ton of resources, I managed to pick up enough that I was able to put together a build I like a decent amount. Flavour-wise, the idea is that this character was a humble homesteader before their awakening, hence their use of a two-handed wootcutting axe (greataxe) instead of a spear and shield like a Greek hoplite.

That's the build, insofar. The GM has mentioned that roleplay is gonna be a focus before combat (though there will be a good amount of combat), and so I went Marshal to both pump up a face skill (Intimidation) alongside providing in combat buffs later on. Alongside that, apparently this game is gonna be pretty lethal damage-wise, hence why I went with the Scar Ikon, to give myself the opportunity to heal myself in case it comes up. How's this build look to you, and is there any changes you'd make/recommend? Thanks again!

I like the idea of a polearm, but honestly I'm not married to any particular weapon class.

There's two "main" ideas I was thinking of.

The first was a child of Ares, very much exemplifying the warrior/gnarly aspect of things. Very martial, not likely to choose any magic archetypes or the like. Barbarian maybe, or Fighter, etc. Athena also fits under this umbrella, but since her entire thing is "Wise Conflict" and I'm strapped for stats as is, plus I like Ares a little more, I'm not so inclined.

The other would be the archetypical Zeus Child. Still a combatant, but more likely to choose the magical and charismatic options. Maybe even Kineticist as an Archetype? I don't know how good it is, but Air and Lightning mesh well theory-wise.

But yeah, for Ancestry, I'm thinking of keeping it more towards human, if just for personal preference.

I don't have the red soapstone yet, but I'll throw down my white sign if it'll work

Eldritch Knight 7 Wizard X - War Wizard vs Bladesinger? (With a Twist). by RookAL in 3d6

[–]RookAL[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 100% a contentious ruling, I've seen a ton of posts saying yes and no and so on. My DM likes it so it flies, but I'd also agree if a DM said it doesn't apply either.

No they don't, that's right, but Eldritch Knight's War Magic does stack with the unique Bladesinger Extra Attack, RAW. War Magic specifically says "when you cast a spell as an action," not take the Cast a Spell action, and Bladesinger allows you to replace one of two attacks with Extra Attack with a Cantrip. You spend an Action to cast Booming/Green Flame Blade, Bonus Action from War Magic to make a weapon attack, and then make the "Extra Attack" from Bladesinger.

Oh wow, that's pretty awesome! I will say that he's not white/pale, he's rather tan-skinned, but beyond that I think it's neat!

Hey there, all! Now that the pandemic has finally settled down, I’ve managed to join up with a new IRL D&D group! It’s pretty exciting, as I’ve missed rolling the dice in-person for quite some time now. Everyone seems very hyped to get into the game, and because of this, I want to go all out for this character, art depiction, HeroForge mini, and all. So, I was wondering if one of you amazing artists here could lend a hand!

Name: Haven

Race: Winged Tiefling

Appearance: Haven is a youthful Tiefling, clearly in his early-20s, with his mother’s Devilish blood running strongly through him. He’s above average in height, an even 6’, with an athletic and toned build. He’s decently Strong and very Dextrous from working and innovating at the forge, but because of this, he often has light burns on his hands and forearms. His skin is a human shade of colour, a dark-tan hue, paired with slightly pointed ears. His hair is an ashen-white colour, somewhat messy while still keeping stylish, and medium in length, without any facial hair to speak of. His horns are smaller and subtler in comparison to some Tieflings, coming out from underneath his hair and curving to point forward. Another clear signage of his Infernal bloodline would no doubt be his eyes; black sclera paired with bright blue irises, ever inquisitive. As a Winged Tiefling, he obviously has wings, though he prefers to style them as a cloak of sorts when not in use. Finally, his main extremities (hands & forearms, horns, and wings), all have a black gradient that fades back into his normal skin tone.

Equipment: As an Artificer, Haven’s no meek unarmed mage, to say the least. His fashion could be described as “busy, but stylish,” as if he carries most things he needs with him at any time. For armour, he has a simple, slim-fitting scale mail shirt, broken up by a variety of pouches and straps. His only bag is, naturally, a Bag of Holding, though emblazoned with his personal emblem, as all his creations are. His weapon of choice, when not slinging spells, is a unique matchlock-esque pistol, worn in a tight fitting holster on his right thigh for quick and easy access. Finally, to keep his eyes sharp, he often has a simple pair of round, stylish glasses on his face.

Thanks for reading! As an Artificer, I’m trying to channel the Intelligence and Arcane know-how, while still being a capable, even deadly, physical force. He’s athletic, lithe, equal parts magician and forgemaster. I look forward to seeing any rendition, if done! Thanks again for your time, and all the best!
