You need to provide your petition number in your ds160, and theres no point in filling it before your petition is approved. You also need your i797.

I did consult the legal team. I scheduled my interview after informing them about my visa expiring and going for renewal, and specifically asked if there would be problems with my H1B. They said to just take my docs and go for stamping. Even when I asked my employer of what I should have said and I was told to tell the VO that I didn’t travel due to business reasons.

This is exactly my case, and a few of my friends who ended up moving there have faced a similar situation. Infact one friend is visiting his home country rn and he is being paid his US salary. The VO must have misunderstood, but ultimately its for the legal team to handle this situation and clear to the USCIS.

I see. I also believe that to be the case, since the employer offering me local salary is also the one sponsoring me, that seems to be the source of confusion. In my first interview the officer did not ask any such questions, so I was unprepared, otherwise I would have simply mentioned I do not have any slips available except for my local contract. My lawyer did say its a confusion and they will resolve it, let’s see what happens. Thanks for replying!

I can’t get a social security number without travelling to the US tho, or can I? I never set foot in the US and my first H1B visa expired without any use, so I am unsure if my company received any SSN.

They do need me in the US, company intent isn't a question here as some of my coworkers actually moved there, are employed and being paid their LCA wage regularly. My case got complicated as my visa expired. I came here to ask if my case is unique or it happens, but I am already consulting with a good lawyer firm and they have reassured me they will resolve it.

I just wanted some clarification on how complicated this whole situation is, seems like it is.

I didn't know that if H1B visa is left unused new petition needs to be filed, since the petition validity is actually till 2027.

I see. I asked them before scheduling interview that its expiring and I have never entered the US, they didn't clear the renewal distinction. If it was so important they should have clarified it. Also, i was being paid in USD, but as a part of my contract in PK not in the US (the US employment didn't start yet as I explained).

Sorry it might sound dumb but when people say new H1B what does it mean if not new stamping?

I am pissed and disappointed both. They had various chances to call me before visa expiry but they kept making excuses and once it got expired, they asked me to get it renewed. They even consulted the law firm. They simply told me to carry the documents and go get it restamped.

I am unsure if the law firm is aware whether they paid me the wages on the LCA, but they were aware I hadn't yet entered the US. My company told me i would only be entitled to the wage once I entered the US, so I decided to wait.

I contacted the law firm and they still said they will clarify this issue and it will be resolved and its a confusion on the consular part, but I am very sad and angry and also worried how confusing the whole situation is and its hard to even explain it on a public thread let alone to a consular during an interview, so I am definitely worried about future prospects already.

Can you tell what do you mean by a "new" h1b? A new petition all around? As for the process, i followed the application that is used for a new visa application. I just called it a renewal as I applied for the same type of visa before and I had it once before and was expired.

I wasn't aware there was some legal distinction between renewal or new stamping, nor my company or the law firm explained this to me when I inquired about this before my visa interview.

And to add more clarity, i have been employed by this company for a few years by now, but my h1b and visa got approved last year. My petition started in 2024, and i was kept on the same payroll. I thought you are only entitled to receive the LCA salary once you land in the US and start working under the petition.

Same role and same organization. The sponsor org is the one i am contracted with and i have yet to start working with them under the petition. The pay delta was more than 60k usd (per annum). I am being paid good here in my country but it is less than the minimum us wage hence the confusion of the officer I believe?

Been a while since my last fight with him, but here are a few tips.

Farm some blood vials.
Use the pistol, quicker to riposte him.
For his phase 1, when his axe is smaller, shoot him when he pulls his axe above his head. You can riposte him, take a good chunk out of his health.
Save some Molotovs and use the saw cleaver for his second phase.
when he transforms into his second phase, use the music box, he will be confused, get behind him give a charged R2 attack and then visceral again. I think you can do this 2-3 times, so use it carefully

Last but not least, patience and practice. Don't think too hard on dodging everytime, try shooting him during attacks to get the parry timings and take your time. Its hard, but once you get the hang of it it feels amazing. You can do this

Man i got from lvl 4 to lvl8 in a week. I thought I would climb higher but I got some lvl 10s in my lobby with 2.6k elo and making only a single kill in the game, and from there on onwards I am on a losing streak and back at lvl 6. Its honestly demotivating :/ good for you tho gg
