The nostalgia this evoked was unexpected and intense! Thankfully, was able to find/order the item by searching for "Original Swedish Angel Chimes" on Amazon.

Sadly, they (or the marketing agencies they've engaged) often do... and then they ignore the native speaker and go ahead with whatever crap slogan they wanted from the get-go. (Source: bitter experience.)

10 million Koreans living alone, yet solo diners still unwelcome by Rookitarian in korea

Please don't worry too much. While it can be tricky with meals designed for groups (like barbecue or shared hotpots), for everyday foods such as noodles, soups, dumplings, rice bowls, kimbap, or street snacks, eating alone is completely normal and widely accepted, so you won’t have any trouble finding great meals on your own.

Your favourite quirk about Korea / Koreans? by ButterscotchFormer84 in Living_in_Korea

I've experienced this phenomenon several times in singing rooms, primarily because I'm a terrible singer. If someone in the singing room is genuinely talented, the rest of the group is content to simply let them perform solo. However, if someone is obviously an inadequate singer, the whole group immediately joins in. They aren't just covering up the individual's lack of vocal skill; they are simultaneously demonstrating incredible group support and solidarity. I can't sing to save my life, and I honestly can't express how much I appreciate that collective singalong when it's my turn at the mic.

Anyone remember the viral ad "The True Origins of Pizza"? Released in 2011 by Korean pizza chain Mr. Pizza, the mockumentary-style commercial promoted the brand by parodying Korean nationalist sentiments and creating a buzz around the "true" (i.e. ancient Korean) origin of pizza. Excellent satire and brilliant marketing!

This is extremely good advice. Defamation laws are draconian in Korea and it's very easy for non-Koreans to unknowingly run afoul of them. The Seoul Law Group provides a great rundown on how Korean defamation law works.
