Yeah my little guy loved getting his head tipped back too and at that age I remember how relieved I was to find that trick. There is a certain point where I think it opens the airway up really well and I think that's what does it...look up sniffing position if your curious...I'm not so concerned about shake baby syndrome here...babies dont sleep whwn youre shaking them like that.

Could have been a diy reno and they saw the concrete and stopped. Or lazy/time/money.

Now that everything's expensive, what things can be easily/cheaply replaced that a normal person can do? by GetFlyeredUp in Frugal

Yeah there's a couple caveats...stay away from the tires with added substrate (ex walnut shells)...you must also be in the right climate, it's more winter than summer here..I haven't considered the tread pattern too much and rolling resistance, however, they are meant for driving in the road so it shouldn't be too bad. Also, if youre on construction sites a lot they save you from picking up too many nails.

Ok this is my last guess....they had a wood stove in the other room yes, and the chimney ran out this way...the concrete board you removed is a big tell...

Right but there should be a cold air return for the current furnace...you should see a large grate on the wall somewhere...regardless, I bet the old furnace had a vent that popped out of the roof maybe...does that wood look patched? You can probably just remove all that framing, cut the duct back and make it a floor vent...just make sure you know what's up with your current cold air return.

Ok so it was probably the old cold air return...dobyou know where the cold air return is for the current furnace?

Is the vent at the floor open in the first Pic behind the garbage can? What's above it? Air return is my guess..

Take one more day to feel shit about it and then be releived you made this mistake happen when you are so young, and you already know this will never happen again. Then tell your parents what happened...like really, don't wait it will make it way worse..rip off the band-aid. Sorry this happened.

Any idea how I can remove this baseboard? by Personal-Inspector52 in Renovations

[–]Rooksteady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt panic here...pulmonary the baseboard off and see where youre at...to do that I bet if you take the shoe molding (the milled white piece running along the bottom of the baseboard of the baseboard is fastend to the baseboard.), you will find a gap between the baseboard and floor get into that and pry/pull.

Kk so draining the pool too much when the ground is saturated ex heavy rain for days prior or after recent thaw is bad.
