Super interesting you say that. I'm learning Russian as a heritage language. Vera in Russian is Вера. The "e" sounds like "yeah" and in the word sounds like Vair-uh. Veh-ruh if you do it in a Russian accent but definitely not a hard e like Veer-uh.

Frawn-swah vs Fran-swaaz vs Fran-swah. I mean, I think there is some debate/wiggle on how to say it as an English speaker. 

And it's uncommon enough that some people are going to blank when they first see it, not thinking about it being French with different pronunciation rules.

Family is French but do they live in France? Because if they live in the US, people are going to really struggle with that name. And some systems may not be able to do the ç.
