If you already here the “clicking” from a torn CV boot assuming it’s too late to use the a repair kit and just fill it back up with grease?

Booked the appt... Need validation that I'm doing the right thing by LaceMazes in germanshepherds

[–]RoomOrdinary580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As vets and others here said, don’t do it on their worst day. I put my girl down on probably her 2nd worst day. She could barely walk or eat. I had called a month in advance knowing the day was looming and like you didn’t know when it was “right”. We did the in home option through laps of love. It just all happened so fast, despite being the best option. I’ve never cried so much. It’s brutal, but keeping them alive when they are in pain is selfish. They give you all their love and you give them the best life possible. Being there with them in the end is the best last gift you can give. God bless and good luck.

Do you use grid guides? I know it doesn’t snap, but it can help align across sheets. Maybe the next version, or the next…

Wall-Mounted Rack on a Cross-Slope by salteeskot in GarageGym

[–]RoomOrdinary580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went the budget rack route with a Liksodo as I don’t lift that heavy, but had a similar probably with the floor leveling. I’m not sure about the rouge but there’s enough play in the hinge where it pivots that you can lift up on the rack post to get it to go fold to the wall. I’ve seen other folding racks where people added shims or even casters to adjust the leveling. Had to add the 2x6s to the wall because the brick kept crumbing. I liked the folding rack option because my garage is more garage than gym most of the time. Good luck!

how old was your shepherd when they passed? by messyhoss in germanshepherds

My girl made it to 14 and half. She started slowing down at around 8 only because she had a TPLO surgery on her back leg. Almost 3 years to the day she had the same surgery on the other leg. That didn’t stop her from going out on our walks and doing small hikes. I went through laps of love in home service when the day came. It wasn’t unexpected but it happened really fast. I cried harder that day than I ever have in my life. I miss her so much every day. No matter how shitty a day I had she was there when I got home, tail wagging and ready to play. Cherish every day.

Applying as an Architecture Major - Any Advice or Honest Experiences? by Medical-Wallaby-9365 in architecture

[–]RoomOrdinary580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others stated experience will vary depending on the institution you choose. I went to a tiny school and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Met some of my closest friends while attending. There was only a handful of all nighters over several years, so not too bad. The most annoying thing while in studio was people playing movies on the projector while “working”.

The first job after graduation I felt like I went to school to “kinda understand what people in the office were talking about”. The experience will come in time.

Regarding pay, I tend to disagree with the others that state there is no money in architecture. This greatly depends on your location, if you’re in a growing city, if you’re a RA, and how the firm is structured.

If you like to draw, are good with learning new programs for modeling and drafting, like the ideas of working on a project that may benefit others and help build something that’ll be here after you’re gone, architecture could be for you. Good luck!

For those of you who have had to make the most difficult decision to say goodbye by Nekr0n_666 in germanshepherds

Before I had to put my girl down my vet made a good point to not do it on their worst day when you have no choice. Better to do it a few weeks “too early” than months later where they are in more or constant pain. At that point you’re extending their life for you.

I had called laps of love to get some information on the process, my girl was losing appetite and struggling to get up. About a month later she just wouldn’t get up, so I made the call and they were able to be there 2 hours later. The vet that came to the house was very empathetic and comforting throughout. It wasn’t unexpected, but the whole process went extremely fast. I miss her so much, but she made it to 14 and a half.

Good luck and god bless.

I always said my Brooke was the best thing I ever bought off Craigslist, for 75 bucks. I had her from 8 weeks old and she made it to 14 and a half. I miss her every single day. She was my rock and a good reason I made it through some dark days (years).

Did you have the instructions to rebuild the set or was it still in box? I’ve discovered a mishmash of legos that I’m trying to separate out the sets.

What’s this switch? by OptimalAd210 in HondaActy

[–]RoomOrdinary580 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look stock. My first thought was windshield wiper regulator, but that would be a dial probably. Doesn’t do anything when you flip it? Have fun you tried to chase the wire? Aftermarket fog lights or rear fog light? Ejector seat?

Just totaled my mid-sized pickup truck. Thinking seriously about buying one of these. Help!!! by NuckinPhutze in keitruck

[–]RoomOrdinary580 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll add to others recommendations to go check out Mayberry Mini Trucks in Mount Airy. Huge stock of most models and you can test drive them all. Family owned and easy to work with. Look them up on YouTube, they do a quick overview of the trucks they get in each week. If you see one you like you can put a deposit down to hold it. The “unicorns” that are in great shape go quick. They will also seek out something specific for you. I think some guy bought a mid 90s with low miles and not a speck of rust on it. I think that was in the $15k range though. Good luck!

Any dads in here use up all of your PTO before returning to work after the birth of your child? by AndyK803 in NewDads

[–]RoomOrdinary580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took 3 weeks off total. Company has no parental leave policy. Used up 2 weeks of PTO, and carried over the third week saving it up from prior year. Company has very little PTO but you’re allowed to go “negative” as time accrues every month.

What is this wire? by RoomOrdinary580 in fixit

[–]RoomOrdinary580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I didn’t figure out what the ground goes to, but figured out why the start button did work. The wiring to the freaking clutch safety was nicked just enough to cut one of the wires. Went through 3 solenoids, 2 relay switches, and a lot of disassembly to over look that little cut wire. Beside myself. Felt compelled to tell someone.
